Apologies for the outage
Motherfish.xiph.org, the main CVS and web server, suffered filesystem
corruption in the past few days and was oopsing on some CVS operations
and mail archive searches. Earlier today I took the box down and ran
four hours of diagnostics; nothing unusual found. It's possible there
was a media error in swap, the box got hit by a brownout, whatever.
I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Mail service outage at xiph.org
Hi folks,
The Postfix mail server on motherfish.xiph.org server got itself 'into
a state' last night and stopped delivering mail for several hours this
morning. The exact cause isn't known at the moment, but since the
mail sandbox had grown somewhat out of sync with the rest of the
machine, I corrected that, increased the debug level and restarted the
server. Motherfish/Postfix is

website spec updated
I've installed new complete-page versions of the vorbis spec on the
website:
http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/
the per-section html versions have not yet been updated.
I also updated docbook, xsltproc, and tetex on motherfish, and
installed a catalog file in /etc/xml/catalog since the docbook stuff is
a little hard to get going. The docs should build out of the box there

code.asterisk.org migration - service outage on Tues, Aug 14th
On Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at 8:30AM CST (GMT-5), code.asterisk.org
will be migrated to a new server. The actual move will take less than 1
hour, but the entire set of repositories serviced by Fisheye will need
to be re-indexed, which could take several hours. During this time,
portions of code.asterisk.org may display incomplete contents.

Infra outage : bugs.centos.org
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Due to a network routing issue happening outside of our infra, we have
decided to migrate the CentOS bug tracker system (aka bugs.centos.org)
to a new node today.
Yesterday, around 2PM UTC, the company hosting the bugs.centos.org
suffered from network connectivity loss (whole subnet not being
routed/announced on bgp, etc ..).

JSpeex help
Hi Sanjiv,
There does indeed appear to be some trouble with
the Javasound SPI encoder (the SPI decoder works well).
I am working on it, and hope to have a fix soon. In the
mean time, you can use the encoder outside of
JavaSound, that one works well (see the command line
encoder as example code of how to implement it).
sincerely

Dear LLVMers,
There is some scheduled network outages detailed below that affect the llvm.org servers and LLVM Mailing lists. The LLVM server is housed on the fourth floor. I am not sure which rooms house the mailing list servers. All times are Central Standard Time.
If someone from Illinois can distill the relevant parts of this message for LLVM users, I would be most appreciative. I am out

Server cutover complete; waiting for root server DNS propogation
Hello,
All services have been successfully migrated to our new facility.
Unfortunately, NetSol once again displayed a brilliant inability to
grasp a clue using both hands and a suction cup, and informed us they
*might* get around to updating DNS records in about two weeks. If we
could fax them enough identification.
Needless to say, they've lost our business and our domain transfers
