open_fake_file_shared: access_denied
Hi there, I have found following messages in log: open_fake_file_shared: access_denied to service[SERVICE_NAME] file[$Extend/$Quota:$Q:$INDEX_ALLOCATION] user[USER_NAME] The messages appears in some computers' logs for more then just one user. It looks like computer dependent not user dependent. I don't know what exactly this message means and I don't understand where is the

Selecting cases from a data frame
My apologies if this is obvious - I assume it is but still can't seem to make it work. I've got a data frame acps.df; I want to run an analysis on a subset of that data frame, defined as the subset for which the value of OGMCAT (a column in the data frame) is anything OTHER than 9, 11, or 12. So I'd like to define a new data frame that consists of the same variables as in acps.df,

NMBD unresponsive
Hi there, I have found a problem with my Samba server 3.0.28. This problem appeared suddenly without any changes in configuration or server update. NMBD becomes unresponsive in some minutes after startup with these options enabled: name resolve order = wins lmhosts hosts wins server = 172.25.8.86 172.25.8.84 Unresponsive means that it is not possible to connect to server, nmbd eats full

Fixing a Corrupted Vorbis file
Hello, Since last week I started having random ogg files from my library turning corrupt, and practically being unplayable by anything. All this while I was browsing and sorting my library through Amarok. Luckily today I've found the possible culprit, Amarok itself, and others who may have the issue as well: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369672 But regardless of how the issue started,

Flac Files Messed Up By Amarok
A while back I posted about issues with flac files that were not able to be decoded. Here's what I do know: I've ripped most of my collection to my hard drive using KAudioCreator and I've specified that they be stored in flac format. All files play without trouble through Amarok. I found out there was a problem when I had selected files in a playlist and picked "burn"

Need to fit a regression line using orthogonal residuals
I'm trying to fit a simple linear regression of just Y ~ X, but both X and Y are noisy. Thus instead of fitting a standard linear model minimizing vertical residuals, I would like to minimize orthogonal/perpendicular residuals. I have tried searching the R-packages, but have not found anything that seems suitable. I'm not sure what these types of residuals are typically called

Concatenating variables
Hi all: I'm having difficulty with something I believe is very simple, but I'm stuck. I have a large data frame that took days to clean and prepare. All I now need to do is concatenate three variables into a single column. For example, I have tenn$up, tenn$down, and tenn$stable which all have values of 1 or 0. I simply want to put all three columns together to create a pattern (e.g.,

Unhandled page fault
Hi all, Since last week I've been unable to run any applications with Wine; it'll always lock the mouse and keyboard, even though other applications don't freeze (at least Amarok can finish playing the current track, but stops when it is finished). When this happens, I'm forced to kill Wine remotely, and then I always get something like this > wine: Unhandled page fault on

OGG/OGM media container
Hi all, Xiph aims at developing open-standards media formats. Though xiph.org tells about vorbis/theora/flac/speex, nothing is mentioned about container to use (that is ogg/ogm). I have a few questions Is there a difference between ogg and ogm? I guess its only the extension that is different and everything else is same. Some tools (like ogmtools) are available to create ogm files. What is

FLAC: player with native support for flac embedded pictures
Hi, I'm looking for an audio player with native support for flac embedded pictures. I use Amarok (http://amarok.kde.org/) in linux, but I can't find any player in Windows that has this same native support for embedded flac pictures. I hope somebody can help me thanks in advance! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Problem decoding .flac files
I've been having problems with Amarok and K3B, but I think it comes down to a problem with flac. All my music and audio files are encoded in flac format. I've ripped my CDs using KAudioCreator and using this command to encode them (split for formatting): flac --best -o %o --tag=Artist=%{artist} --tag=Album=%{albumtitle} --tag=Date=%{year} --tag=Title=%{title}
