Clarification on code books usage.
Dear All,
As i have understood it , the Huffman codebook uses a huffman code
present in the bitstream ( lets us say it is decoding a floor 1 Y value
using the specifed codebook number ) to walk through the huffman code
book tree till it hits a leaf node which is nothing but the entry number.
If we consider our floor 1 Y value example , this entry number is
directly being used as the Y value.

FLOOR_fromdB_LOOKUP
Hello,
You know, I always worry about the precision
and the float constants... and there is a large
lookup table in the floor1.c ... and I figure out
a way to keep the code size and speed, but
to improve the precision at this lookup table.
(the difference is small, but audible)

Floor1 doubts...

I've read in a thread from this mailing list (
http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/vorbis-dev/2009-September/020019.html) that
the usage of FLOOR1_fromdB_LOOKUP table is to convert Floor1 values from a
dB scale to a linear scale. In a dB scale, given a reference value, the
other dB values are obtained from it, normally dB_value = 10log(p1/p0),

Hi,
I have a test case would fail due to instruction combine cast
from floor to floorf.
double d = 1024.0 - 1.0 / 32768.0;

My question is: Is the transformation legal for this case?

Supporting 32 bit data
Hi all,
I just noticed this:

a request for support of 32 bit audio data. The request has been around
since 2008.
Had two inial impressions:
* Would adding this break brackwards compatibility too badly? Obviously
decoding of 32 bit encoded data would not work with older versions of
flac.

How are floor and residue used in OV Codec?
Hi All,
I have a doubt in Vorbis coding.
It is said, the encoder subtracts the floor from the MDCT of the data to
get the residue. But in the decoder, the 'dot product' of of the floor and
residue is done to get back the data. If subtraction is done at one end,
addition should be done at the other end. What exactly is 'dot product'?

[Steam Game] Killing floor running slowly
Hello
I am completly new to the linux and wine but i did manage to run a few things. I wanted to run my favourite game (KF of course) and i have a few problems. I use newest version of Wine (1.3.20). I have succesfully installed steam and KF. Then i ran the application. I runs at great image quality in window but the navigation at menu is EXTREMELY SLOW. I did go through some tutorial on setting

decimal places:

There is a similar problem with ceiling, so this may apply to all/most rounding

floor of n observations in number generators
I couldnt find a previous posting on this in the archives, maybe it has
already been mentioned.
If you use a calculation to generate n observations in random number
generators and you don't round to the nearest integer you may be
generating n-1 numbers not n numbers as you thought depending on the
storage precision of the calculation.
e.g.

Could someone please explain the following perculiarity?

Similarly,
floor(0.2/0.1) = 2

Defining a floor value in a data.frame on a row-by-row basis

I have a data frame x, and a vector y which limits x by rows
so that no element of x in that row is smaller than y.
For example,
