order function called on a data.frame?
Hi, base::order main input arguments are defined as: a sequence of numeric, complex, character or logical vectors, all of the same length, or a classed R object When passing a list or a data.frame, the resuts seems to be a bit useless. Shouldn't that raise an error, or at least warning? Best Regards, Jan Gorecki

latex, eps graphics and transparent colors
I have a diagram to be included in latex, where all my figures are .eps graphics (so pdflatex is not an option) and I want to achieve something like the following: three concentric filled circles varying in lightness or saturation. It is easiest to do this using transparency, but in my test using the postscript driver, the transparent color fills do not appear. Is it correct that postscript()

Parentheses for precedence?
I''m not sure whether this is a bug or whether I''m simply expecting Ferret queries to work in a way other than they''re intended. I notice that if use a query like: (other_text:"Collaborative tools") AND NOT other_text:podcasts I''ll get correct search results. However, if I put parentheses around the second part, like:

gnuclient problems witrh R/ESS in linux
Dear list, Not strictly R ... In R on Xemacs with ESS (R-2.0.1, Xemacs-21.4.15-r3, ESS-5.2.6) on gentoo-linux when I use k<-edit(k) or fix(k) to change a small vector k <- c(1,2,3,4,5,6) the opened window (called '6b8b4567') appears not to be connected to the gnuclient and I'm able to edit the file but has no instructions in the minibuffer and C-x # gives '6b8b4567 does

order function called on a data.frame?
I guess we could make it do the equivalent of do.call(order, df). On Mon, May 18, 2020 at 8:32 AM Rui Barradas <ruipbarradas at sapo.pt> wrote: > > Hello, > > There is a result with lists? ip route add default mpath (rr| drr|random|wrandom)...
Anyone using it? I''ve tried but after about 5 min I always get kernel panic. My setup is based on nano.txt. I works well but only if CONFIG_IP_ROUTE_MULTIPATH_CACHED=n. I just wanted to play with the new mpath feature of ip. But enabling CONFIG_IP_ROUTE_MULTIPATH_CACHED always resuts in kernel panic. I''m not using any kernel patches from http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/ - are they needed

oddness when adding to index -
I was having some odd results when working with acts_as_ferret (current trunk), so I decided to test with the current version of ferret to see if I encountered the same problem. I did. Here are the details: installed ferret 0.10.10 on debian sarge with ''sudo gem install ferret'' (btw, same results on OSX) opened up an irb session: irb(main):001:0> require

Samba3: machine account uid
Hello, Setup: Samba 3rc3 PDC, ldapsam based, Openldap 2.1, RedHat 9 Question: Is it possible to assign the same UID to all machine accounts? I am referring just to the number, of course there has to be one entry for each machine with it's own unique username. Questions Background: Personally I would prefer a "non unix account solution" for Windows machine accounts. Nevertheless

Samba3: group mapping with samba PDC, LDAP account flags
Hello again, this mainly affects documentation: a) net groupmap is a fine thing. Though: is it optional or do I have to map some groups for proper client operation ( W2k/XP pro) ? If so, which Windows groups have to be mapped? b) There are "Account flags" both visible in the LDAP directory as well as in pdbedit's output. The examples always refer to UX, while smbpasswd just sets

GPG signature of the RC tarballs
Hi. It looks like the gpg signatures of the RC2 and RC3 tarballs are bogus... I've tested the .bz2 and .tar.gz files downloaded from the us1 and us4 mirrors. To confirm that it's not a local problem, I've tested the signature of the Samba_CA.crt file (http://us4.samba.org/samba/ftp/) and it's ok. Can someone else please confirm it? Thanks. - Ademar $ gpg --verify

Newbie seeking directions
Hello everybody, I'm developing the www.polyxmass.org (GNU polyxmass) program that is a polymer sequence editor (a polymer is a thread made of concatenated monomers). I would like to code a "self-speak-out" feature for that sequence editor: the user would select a sequence region and ask that the program would "dictate" the sequence. For example, the following could be
