libreadanything ?
Is there a library that decodes any file format ? I need a lib to decode ogg-vorbis (of course) and also wavs, mp3s, flac... Using several different libs is not a good solution. I don't like to use a lot of different APIs to do the same thing with different file formats. -- Giuliano.

Patch to get libogg2 to build with gcc 2.96
Hi, When I built libogg2 for testing the new vorbose utility, gcc 2.96 stumbled over a portion from stream.c that mixes variable declarations with statements. The patch below fixes this. -Carsten. Hi all !
I tested vorbis. I sounds good, but when I play something in mono, trebles are much stronger. Perhaps is stereo phase of hi bands removed to improve compression ? I't a good idea (it's not audible in most music), but it should also provide an option to preserve them. Is there docs that explains how dows vorbis compress sound ? oggenc (yearstday's cvs) creates only ~128k streams.

Hi folks, We're gearing up to the next full release of the Vorbis codec; I've just tagged a release candidate in SVN in order to encourage wider testing toward final 1.1 release. This release includes the following updates: 1) Adoption of AoTuV and other tuning work by Vorbis developers outside of Xiph into the mainline codebase 2) New bitrate management code 3) bugfixes In more

Re [ogg]
Hello: I went to the archives of xiph and searched for ogg. I read through about a hundred messages that are archived and still can't tell whether icecast will stream ogg. Does anyone know what streaming server I should set up to stream ogg/vorbis format (on a Linux OS)? CVS changes
To all CVS users of ices 0.x: I've just merged the ices-libshout_2 branch onto HEAD. Anyone using that branch should switch back to HEAD to continue to get the latest updates. This also means you now need the latest version of libshout2 from CVS in order to build ices from CVS. libshout2: :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.xiph.org:/usr/local/cvsroot libshout ices:
