Nokia against the adoption of the Ogg technologies by W3C's HTML5

Anything beyond that, including a W3C-lead standardization of a ?free? codec,
or the active endorsement of proprietary technology such as Ogg, ?, by W3C,
is, in our opinion, not helpful for the co-existence of the two ecosystems
(web and video), and therefore not our choice.

Firmware for iRiver ChromeX iMP-150?
Found the following listing on amazon.com:
iRiver ChromeX iMP-150 CD/MP3 Player with 120-Second Anti-Skip and
Upgradeable Firmware
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000669BN/qid=1062970402/br=1-2/ref=br_lf_etk_ce_av__2//002-6698891-2179212?v=glance&s=electronics&n=516876).
Does anyone know if it supports Vorbis thru an alternate firmware?

Reencode ogg/vorbis stream/file with lower bitrate?
Greetings to all,
It's been rumored that subj is possible, even with no decoding/encoding
the .ogg file, but simply throwing out some information from it. I just
wonder: is it really possible, and if yes, if there some software
capable of doing this?

[LLVMdev] [LLVM Doc] tblgen backends
I agree, but I have no experience with LLVM doc.
The job is very simple: add link at page
https://github.com/draperlaboratory/fracture/wiki/How-TableGen%27s-DAGISel-Backend-Works
into doc page
http://llvm.org/docs/TableGen/BackEnds.html
But how I can do it?

Analog to matlab repmat function
Hello,
I'm trying to switch from Matlab to R-project, and having some difficulties.
I make a use of multidimensional matrices. For example, I need to extract
mean from one of the dimensions:
% we have matrix data of size: 130 x 11 x 350 x 2
data = data - repmat(mean(data,3),[130 1 1 1]);
In R project I managed to do that in a very pervarsive way:
# mean(data,3) in R
base <-

plot problem
Hello.
I'm pretty much new to R and I'm trying to produce some figures.
It seems to me, that R has some asynchronous way of plotting figures.
When I run this code:
#constructs the semivariogram of SC1929
vgm1 <- variogram(SC1929~1,~U+V,puerto.map$att.data)
# trying to make new plot
dev.set(which=dev.next())
plot(vgm1)

[LLVMdev] [llvm][SelectionDAG] trivial patch: fix misprint in SelectionDAGLegalize::ExpandInsertToVectorThroughStack
I detected this bug using test case from platform which is not currently
supported on llvm targets. (Our team is porting llvm on new target).
Creating the test case will take some extra time. I'll try to do it ASAP.
Have you any ideas about the test case? (targets using
ExpandInsertToVectorThroughStack, etc...)

transfer FSMO roles from Windows DC
I have the Active Directory domain with Windows 2008 R2 domain controller and Samba domain controller on CentOS 7. Samba is 4.3.5 (self-compiled). Forest and domain levels are Windows 2008 R2.
After joining Samba to the domain as the domain controller there were no DC=ForestDnsZones and DC=DomainDnsZones records on "OUTBOUND NEIGHBORS". I fixed it with ntdsutil, as it's written here

FLAC, ogg and iRiver
I've seen in this discussion:
http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/200304/0000.html
that not only is it possible for the iRiver iMP-350 to play Ogg, it can also
play FLAC - I didn't know this, and two question arrise:
* It is possible to get the iRiver H120/140 to play FLAC (I know the Rio Karma can)
* People sometimes say things like "Ogg is not tuned well for high bit rates"

LTO in LLVM3.8
In the linked bug, the issue is that symbols defined in multiple places
(LTO and non-LTO) are provided by the linker plugin (which in GCC's case
marks the symbols as private). The error appears to be a difference in
which symbol gold or ld picks as canonical. I don't think it's the same as
the issue you're seeing (unless you're mixing LTO and non-LTO files).
I'd guess

iRiver
Hi,
Does anyone (of the developers) know what's the status on the iRiver
Vorbis support? Mainly I'm interested in knowing if it will be a
firmware update or if they'll have to make a new player.
I'm thinking about buying the iMP-350, but I don't want to buy it now
only to discover that it will never support my favorite audio format.
TIA,
Alex

New iRiver Firmware supports Vorbis!
iRiver released some firmware updates today for many of their CD and
Flash-based MP3 players. Among the added features is the ability to play
back Ogg Vorbis and FLAC audio files. Interestingly, in order to make room
for the decoders, they also _removed_ the ability to play back Windows Media
Audio. It's unfortunate that they had to take out some capability, but I'd
prefer Ogg to wma

iRiver iFP-790 and its Ogg Vorbis support
Does anyone have the iRiver iFP-790 player (or maybe any other one of their iFP-7xx series)?
I bought this player very recently, and I have been having problems with Ogg Vorbis playback. It skips so much that you only hear music 20% of the time.
Is my unit defective or does the player really have problems with ogg vorbis? I think mine even chokes on wma's encoded at standard settings.

Another portable player? (The iRiver iHP 120)
Hi all,
My japanese is not so good ;-) But it appears that iRiver have released the
iHP-120, and it includes OGG playback support.
http://www.iriverjapan.com/product.php?product=iHP-120
If you scroll down to "Multi-CODEC" you will see that they use the words
"Ogg Vorbis", not once but twice!
I haven't seen it float past here yet, so I just thought that I would bring

iRiver iGP-100 Review on Tomshardware.com

The iRiver iGP-100 was just reviewed at Toms Hardware. They
specifically mention that it supports Vorbis. Just thought I'd pass
this along.

Using rsync with the iriver T60
I was about to ask how to get this to work, but I think I might have solved it
with another last look down the documentation before I clicked on the send
button.
I have an annoying little problem known as the iriver T60 audio player.
It plays Ogg files from my PC perfectly well, but only in the same order in
which it thinks they were copied onto its flash memory. It makes no attempt
to sort
