deSolve question
Dear All, I like to simulate a physiologically based pharmacokinetics model using R but am having a problem with the daspk routine. The same problem has been implemented in Berkeley madonna and Winbugs so that I know that it is working. However, with daspk it is not, and the numbers are everywhere! Please see the following and let me know if I am missing something... Thanks a lot in advance,

how do I not use smbpasswd?
All, I am in a mixed NT/UNIX/Novell environment and got the buy-off to go full SAMBA for our corporate fileserver (400 clients, 95 and NT). I got a few Sun UE450s and A5100 arrays and am going to cluster them with Veritas. I have samba working with home directories for all clients, but had to dump the passwords from the PDC into the smbpasswd file in order to do it. Sometimes it takes an

Triggering processes through Samba
Hi, I need to upload data from a barcode scanner into a Progress database on UNIX. The barcode reader is attached to a PC. We have set it up in this way that the barcode reader creates a file in a directory shared by the PC and an HP box. A simple daemon on the HP scans the directory and triggers a program to upload the data whenever it finds a file in that directory. I was wondering if

Asterisk 11.10.2 update breaks snom TLS transport
Hey all, I've recently updated an Asterisk installation to 11.10.2 (from the Gentoo packaged build), and the update has (seemingly) broken TLS transport for snom phones (I could reproduce on snom 3x0 and 7x0 with 8.4.3x and 8.7.x.y firmwares). What happens is that the registration to the PBX is successful, and inbound calls work normally (i.e., when the phone is being signalled that a

reduce delay in fax detection
Hey; Yes, I?ve also seen that 5 second delay with our fax server and it drove me crazy. How I solved it was by doing a ?core show channels <concise|verbose>? and detect if there was a fax transmission going on. Doing it this way shows up instantaneously without any delay. Like so: mte6*CLI> core show channels concise

Using PCA to correct p-values from snpMatrix
Hi R-help folks, I have been doing some single SNP association work using snpMatrix. This works well, but produces a lot of false positives, because of population structure in my data. I would like to correct the p-values (which snpMatrix gives me) for population structure, possibly using principle component analysis (PCA). My data is complicated, so here's a simple example of what

Xapian-devel Digest, Vol 90, Issue 1
Hi, all guys: I invented a new ranking algorithm inspired by the theory of spread activation and probabilistic model, which can find the latent semantic relationship between docs and terms, and I took one afternoon to implement this idea, which is almost linear time, and the testing result shows that the speed of this algorithm is much faster than the famous Latent Semantic Analysis

pre summary: mapping of colornames into hsv?
Hi Martin, Great that you follow this. My original intention was to be able to translate colornames to hsv because this would allow using colornames to cut out a certain part of the colorwheel for colorcoding (HSV component H, see my code below) I think internally we might have colors represented as Colornames, ColorIntegers, ColorHexcodes, ColorRGBs, ColorHSVs (ColorCMYs?) however the R-user
