Ogg vorbis decoder - Independent implementation questions
Hi All, Ours is an embedded software solutions company that focuses on developing embedded software solutions specific to the DSP market. I'm happy to inform the ogg vorbis developer community that today we have release trial version of our Ogg vorbis decoder made available on PC, TMS320C67x platform (More platforms to follow). More information about the same can be fetched from

Hardware encoder.
Hi people, I am aware of the integer based DEcoder (Tremor) but am more interested in a hardware ENcoder, for use in a solid state portable recorder. Has anyone made *any* steps towards implementing an encoder in a DSP? I ask because I have been investigating MP3 hardware encoders, and apart from being very expensive (to licence - DSPs are as cheap as grains of sand in comparison) I have an

Vorbis decoder sample code
Hi, I'm a Pocket PC developer and have created a audio translator application on this platform. I currently make use of an MP3 decoder engine, but due to heavy licensing fees I'm thinking of switching over to a patent free format. Vorbis presents the best approach. I read that tremor decoder has been especially optimized for embedded devices. I'd like to make use of this and

libvorbis 1.3.6 - critical security update
libvorbis 1.3.6 has been released. This release fixes several vulnerabilities, including CVE-2018-5146, that could allow code execution from a specially crafted Ogg Vorbis file. * Fix CVE-2018-5146 - out-of-bounds write on codebook decoding. * Fix CVE-2017-14632 - free() on unitialized data * Fix CVE-2017-14633 - out-of-bounds read * Fix bitrate metadata parsing. * Fix out-of-bounds read in

low-memory vorbis decoding
Hi all, Does anyone have any experience porting libvorbis to platforms with small total memory sizes? Specifically, I'm trying to figure out if it's feasible to run Ogg Vorbis decoding on one of the PlayStation 3's SPU's -- secondary processors with only 256kb of local memory. It looks like out of the box the memory footprint of libvorbis is roughly: ~130k code ~60k static

fixed-point OGG Vorbis encoder
Hello, Iam interesting in transcoding the algorithm of OGG VORBIs in fixed point because I have to implemente this encoder in a fixed point DSP. Does the source code of ogg vorbis encoder exist in fixed point or is there people that work on this or anything else? regarding vorbis tool
hi, i am trying to load vorbis tool on to my arm board EDB9302 , till now i have cross compiled libao, libogg, libvorbis, flac, speex and vorbis tool. when i run the command line arm-linux-ogg123 with some sample ogg format file on my arm board it gave *"Could not load default driver and no driver specified in config file : Exiting"* , please help me to over come this error.

How many MIPS for Vorbis Decoder?
Hello, I may be stupid, but I cannot find any data on how "expensive" the Vorbis Decoder is. Looking for an embedded solution I am interested in how many "MIPS" you need to decode a MONO audio stream at reasonable quality (44 kHz, approx. 100 kbps?) Can it be done in a microcontroller, or do I need ultra-expensive DSPs to do it? Thanks for hints Jens --- >8 ---- List

How can I seek in Ogg Vorbis file, but not using Vorbisfile library?
Hello, All. I am making an Ogg Vorbis decoder based on Tremor. The Vorbisfile library provides a high-level API which enables us to seek in the file, but it needs to declare a pointer to OggVorbis_File structure. Because I am supposed not to use file, so I can't use the ov_pcm_seek() or ov_raw_seek() functions to seek in the file. For decoding an Ogg Vorbis file, I first put it in

Vorbis on a TI C6713
Hi all, What are the steps to get Vorbis running on a TI C6713? I know I should use the floating point code, but am unsure what files I should compile in Code Composer Studio. Specificially, I am using the TMS320C6713 to receive Vorbis through a manufactured UART Daughter Card and output raw audio through its audio jack. Where to put ported (embedded DSP) versions of Vorbis?
Hi all, Sorry for the somewhat off-topic post, but I haven't come up with a good answer to this question yet. MDS did a port of Vorbis to the Philips TriMedia processors. Others have taken that port and extended/fixed it a bit. We provide the code to anyone who asks, but at this point we think it would be better off in some sort of public repository so that patches can be maintained,

Altivec optimized vorbis decoder
Hi Is there any Altivec optimized libVorbis implementation source code out there ? The only thing I'v found is that message: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/vorbis-dev/2003-October/007835.html but the link is dead, so the source code is lost (forever ?). I need to decode from 10 to 30 ogg files on my PS3 on the fly (files are already in memory, so I'm not I/O bound) and do something

port of vorbis encoder to non-fpu archs
Hi, i was asking in the irc about any developer or group of devs who could enable a vorbis encoder to run on a MIPS32 architecture. There is a payment for whoever can make this happen. The main motivation comes from an art project (so is the funding) All credits will go to whoever is able to improve the code and makes the port as a package .ipk for the openwrt firmwares (preferably kamikaze).

vorbis on playstation 2
Hello, I'm interested in getting vorbis up and running on the PlayStation 2. I'm an official developer, not a ps2 linux developer, but the issues should be roughly the same. I've gotten the code to compile but our setup (intentionally) doesn't have libm so I'm seeing references to several double-precision math functions. Some of the issues I'm seeing: - As reported on
