Python bindings
I saw Alex Shinn's post on Perl bindings and felt the need to make Python
bindings for ogg and ao. I borrowed heavily from his interface and a little bit
from his code. Hope that's ok! Right now I just have ogg.vorbis and ao, but
that's enough to play a file. I'll try to get the rest implemented soon.
It has documentation, but it's very likely incorrect, as I'm still

OGG/Vorbis DirectShow
Hi!
On http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2 ( Other Vorbis software
for windows ) there is a link called "Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters"
pointing to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw That project is dead !
But there is another vorbis DS project at
http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm , which is actively developed.
How about updating the vorbis.com page to point to this DS-vorbis

Winamp vorbis crash
Hi!
( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters
homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I
am not sure what his email address is )
I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes
winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position
slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp
does not respond to any user input

Ogg support in Windows Media Player 9 and WMP Media Library
Greetings all,
I've got some questions and news (I think) regarding the Ogg
DirectShow filter, and Ogg support in Windows Media Player
and the WMP Media Library.
The OggDS that's in CVS -- is there any reason it's only
at the 0.9.9.3 level and not the 0.9.9.5 level that's on
Tobias's webpage?
After downloading the 0.995 version and digging through the

OGGDS\OggSDK missing from svn
Hello,
I am trying to get hold of the sources for the ogg vorbis DirectShow filter.
I have checked out trunk\oggds, but the solution refers to projects under
OggSDK, viz:
"OggSDK\ogg\win32\ogg_dynamic.vcproj"
"OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbis_dynamic.vcproj"
"OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbisenc_dynamic.vcproj"
....which do not appear to be in subversion.

DirectShow filters ?
Hi!
First , on page http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2
"Other Software Which Supports Ogg Vorbis"
there is a link to http://mediaxw.org (Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters)
The page is gone. It has a notice that it moved to
http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw
I sent this note to feedback@vorbis.com.
Second, that project is suspended.
But there is another one at

How is 6 channels coupling made?
Hello all, I'm using the directshow filters by Tobias. Yes I know they are not
supported here :)
The vorbis encoder (I really mean encoder, not decoder) by tobias works good in
2 channels mode, but with 6 channels it exchanges the order of channels while
encoding. The front center goes to the front right, and the like.
I have reported the problem, but Tobias gives no signs of life. I want to

Problems with pyvorbis python bindings.
[Sorry if this is a duplicate post. My original didn't appear to have
gotten through.]
I had previously installed libao, libogg, libvorbis, and vorbis-tools,
as linked from the RC3 download page at vorbis.com -- I downloaded and
installed the latest versions of these four libraries from the
vorbis.com download page, at which point my pyogg/pyvorbis Python
bindings broke. I reinstalled the

OggVDS Where?
Where can I download the Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filter? I've heard,
that there is a newer version than 0.9.9.5. There's a bug in either
OggMux or Tobias' Filter which causes text to be erased after special
(unicode?) characters in the chapter list.

Pyogg equivalent for mp3?
Hello All,
Somewhat offtopic, but pertinent for my Ogg app. I'm very happily using
pyogg and pyao in a python script to serve as my ogg decoder. It's
working very well!
I'd like to add support for MP3s in a fashion similar to what I already
have for oggs. However, I'm unaware of any such module. Anyone know of a
python decoder wrapper for MP3s? Closest thing I can find is the

any help with pyogg and pyvorbis?
Dear List,
I'm just creating a little application for my openmoko freerunner,
unfortunately in python, so that I have to use pyogg and
pyvorbis(http://ekyo.nerim.net/software/pyogg/index.html) as wrappers
around the C-functions and objects.
I've got it all installed, after applying some patches and trying to run
an example of encoding a wave-file I just get an empty ogg-file, the

Problems with ogg/vorbis python bindings.
I compiled and installed pyogg followed by pyvorbis, running:
$ ./config_unix.py
$ python setup.py build
and as root:
# python setup.py install
for pyogg and pyvorbis in turn. This completed without error, however
upon trying to import ogg.vorbis in IDLE I get an import error:

C++, Python wrappers for libogg and libvorbis
since there's already a Python wrapper for libogg and libvorbis, it
occurred to me: Why not write a Python wrapper for libogg and libvorbis?
http://dingoskidneys.com/oggpy/
this is the 0.001 release. "release early.." it requires Boost.Python,
possibly CVS Boost.Python, available from http://boost.org/
partly because it's not finished but mostly because it's written with
