xmms titlepatch -- update
Hello,
I have updated my titlestring patch for xmms. It now includes some
kind of an 'advanced' tag editor. For now, this has to be enabled at
compile time by defining VORBIS_ADV_EDIT, for more details, read the
readme (see below).
You might need a recent cvs-checkout of xmms, maybe it also applies
against a release version but that is untested.

xmms vorbis titlestring patch
Hi,
I managed to patch the xmms vorbis plugin to allow specifying
arbitrary tagnames to be displayed in xmms' titlestring as well as
conditional tag displaying.
You can get the patch (against cvs) from here

xmms vorbis titlestring patch -- update
Hello again,
I updated my patch to be able to display all occurrences of a tag.
E.g. if you have multiple artists specified, all can be displayed
concatenated with configurable strings. (suggested and contributed
by Jens Z. Burkal)

New xmms vorbis plugin
I've written an updated xmms vorbis plugin, which is currently available from
the vgplay cvs as a file tree and patch:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/cvs/?group=vgplay
(Once some file area problems are sorted, I'll put the patch there for easier
access).
It's a patch or Input/vorbis tree for xmms 1.2.8 and includes the following
features:
- Replaygain is now implemented using

XMMS 1.2.6 package in debian breaks xmms-flac
This is mostly to Matt Zimmerman. The xmms package in unstable was
updated to 1.2.6-1; that's fine.
Then I noticed my XMMS would no longer play FLAC files. I run testing,
not unstable, I thought. What could have happened?
That change was propagated into testing without an xmms-flac update! Huh?
This makes me wonder: xmms-flac 1.0.2-1 should depend on xmms = 1.2.5. I
think because this

xmms-flac security update breaks XMMS' flac-playing ability
that missing symbol appears only in libFLAC 1.2.1 or later, so it
sounds like the version dependencies in xmms-flac were not set up
to automatically pull in 1.2.1. check the versions of the other
flac packages on the machine (not sure what they're called in
ubuntu but probably flac or libflac) and make sure they're up to

Frustrated with Ubuntu XMMS, XMMS-Liveice, and icecast
I have XMMS and XMMS-liveice setup to use ALSA to stream audio to my
icecast server using LAME encoding.
I start the sound file and i can see XMMS playing away happily, icecast
detects the connection and shows the source as being connected, but no
bandwisth useage. If I connect to the icecast server I get a client
connection, but no sound.
Scanning other forums there appears that there might

XMMS with liveice-xmms plugin
Am I making the right assumptions.... I run icecast and then only need to
run xmms with the plug in enabled to stream to the net.... Or do I need to
run LiveIce as well???
When I try running liveice and xmms together xmms locks up.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Kevin

xmms-flac security update breaks XMMS' flac-playing ability
Hello,
First post to this group. I've been searching for about a week now to
find anyone who can solve this problem or point me to the solution.
I've been a happy xmms-flac user for 4 years until this week when some
new FLAC security updates came along and completely stopped XMMS from
playing FLACs on my PC. This is most irritating as I have over 3,500
CDs ripped and FLAC'd in

Firefox and xmms issue
I'm almost certain that I had this working before, but it seems to have quit.
I used to be able to go to a web page, click on a .wav file and have it
automatically load into xmms and play, and that was all there was to it.
Today, I click on a wav file and it opens another empty Firefox window, then
loads xmms and sits there until I hit the play button on xmms. Worse, if I
close xmms and the

Damaged tags in XMMS
Hi,
I just copied 15 GB of Music from my Slackware install over to my laptop
running CentOS. Everything's running fine, except a few minor quirks.
About 10 to 15% of the 4.000 songs in my collection seem to have broken
ID3 tags in XMMS. In the playlist window, there are only truncated
fields of a few random letters appearing.
But when I right-click on one of these songs, the ID3 info is

Re: Odd xmms plugin behavior
hmm, you must have found a bug. the format does support other
resolutions and sample rates, and the test suite does include
numerous 8 bps mono files, so it's probably in the plugin itself.
if you 'flac -t' the encoded 8-bit mono file, does it test ok?
