Encoding wavs to ogg
Hello. I think I've heard before that it is possible to add vorbis comments to .wav files when ripping so that when you encode the .wav's later, the comments are preserved. Is this true or am I thinking about FLAC? What tools would you recommend (for a windows environment)? <p>Sergey <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

is ogg flac ready to be used by the average user?
Sorry for the somewhat off-topic post, but while we are on the subject of flac, here's my question: Is the current version of ogg flac (encoded with flac.exe from the official flac website) some kind of beta implementation or is it a fully compatible release that will continue to be supported by future applications? The reason I'm asking is because I get the following error message when

(Classical) Request for Standardization of expanded TAGS
A month or two ago I sent an email to this list proposing to expand the list of "standard" tags for Ogg Vorbis. No tag would be required, but if you wanted to encode certain types of information about a file, you could use a standard tag. I went through the whole discussion, and revised my proposal in light of all the comments from everyone. Here is the updated proposal. This

Restoring concatenated ogg vorbis files
Questions about concatenated ogg files have been popping up recently. Here's another one — is there an easy way of splitting a concatenated ogg file back to its constituents? i.e. if you have a complete album that has been concatenated to a single file using the copy command in Windows (I suspect an analog of cat in *nix), is there a way to split it back into tracks? Multi-channel labels in Vorbis comments
Hi devs :-) At the Mozilla Festival in London recently, I took part in a Hack the DJ workshop, looking at ways to take digital DJ'ing to the next level: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/researchanddevelopment/2011/11/setting-a-dj-challenge-at-the.shtml One of the ideas proposed was stem mixing, using multichannel files in DJ applications. A proprietary implementation of this idea is Fireplayer

music.ibiblio.org: bad Vorbis comments?
Hi, having inspected one of the files found at music.ibiblio.org, I realized that the comments are quite poor or misformatted in the files. I'm telling you, because: 1) I think it's great to have some free music 2) I think the performers deserve to be recognized Generally, I'd put as much as possible into the Vorbis comments. Then you could skip creating these index.html manually:

[LLVMdev] [RFC] OpenMP offload infrastructure (iteration 2)
Hello everybody! To continue the original (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.compilers.llvm.devel/75674) discussion of offload infrastructure I have an updated document with more details for your attention. The document is a consensus of the contributors representing a number of institutions: ANL, AMD, IBM, Intel and Texas Instruments. Our intent is to have a discussion and an approval from

[LLVMdev] is there any eclipse plug-in for td/ll files editing?
Hi, I've developed editor prototype for TableGen files (td). It is Eclipse plugin based on IMP project (The IDE Meta-Tooling Platform). Editor has outline, folding, coloring, go to definition, etc. As any prototype, editor has some limitations (e.g. no cross-file indexing). If there is any interest to such tool I will improve it a bit and then publish. Also considering llvm asm (ll) editing

[LLVMdev] [Openmp-dev] [RFC] OpenMP offload infrastructure (iteration 2)
Hi Sergey, Thanks for putting the new version of the document together! I don't see any other issues. I strongly believe the approach described in the document is a nice way to get OpenMP offloading support in clang. I plan to start actively contributing code for this component of the OpenMP implementation soon. Thanks again, Samuel 2015-04-29 11:47 GMT-04:00 Sergey Ostanevich

[LLVMdev] [Compiler-RT] [ARM] Where __aeabi_[il]div0 builtins should be implemented?
Hi, There are several places in compiler-rt which refer to __aeabi_idiv0. For example, in lib/builtins/arm/udivsi3.S: #ifdef __ARM_EABI__ b __aeabi_idiv0 #else JMP(lr) #endif At the same time there is no definition of it. It looks as if it was done intentionally so that third-party could provide custom handler for division by zero. IMHO It's not very consistent and looks odd as
