Using Speex on OMAP5910 OSK board
Hello,
I have an OMAP5910 OSK board with C55 dsp and ARM9 processor. I just want to
use speex as a simple application on the platform in order to check dsp's
working well or not.
First, I found speex's source codes include "ti/speex_C55_test" directory so
I thought speex could run on my platform well.
Second, I open "Code Composer

Re: Speex on a T.I. TMS320C5510 DSP
Hi Frank,
Actually, I just merged (in SVN) a patch doing exactly that. AFAIK it
allows Speex to run on a C55x. I think it should work for you with the
following caveats:
1) The static codebooks still take up 16 bits for every 8-bit value
(that's only a code size issue)
2) The bit-packer always returns a multiple of 16 bits instead of 8 bits
(but it uses all bits when packing).

Fixed vs. Floating Point primer. was: Implementing Vorbis in hard ware
Let me chime in with a few facts regarding DSPs. It may be review to anyone
who has programmed DSPs, but some may find it informative.
Fixed-Point vs. Floating Point DSP chips
Floating Point DSPs make the best/easiest compiler targets. Most of the
standard operations present in ANSI C translate fairly well into floating
point DSP assembly. This reduces the need for assembly

1-dim maximizing of windows
Salve,
this is just to probe whether other fans of an unimplemented feature
exist or what priority/difficulty compiz coders would assign to it.
I constantly used ?maximize vertically? (and also ?maximize
horizontally?) in Metacity when there wasn't enough space to see a
portion of text in a terminal or another window. Assigned to
<Super_R>Up/<Super_R>Right it was a powerful pair

Bug test di Rails
salve a tutti,

Does FreeBSD Will Support TPM Chip?
Hello everyone,
With the computers equipped with TPM chip popularizing, many OS begin to
support it. And Linux and Vista are some of then. I want to know whether the
FreeBSD Project has a plan to support it and some related technology.
Can anyone answer me?

Success: HVM (VT) works on Core2duo with Intel P965 chip set!
Success story:
I''m now successfully running WinXP Home Edition as DomU under XEN, with
Gentoo Linux dom0. Xen and Linux kernel souce code installed from Gentoo
emerge sources (not from the xensource tarball).
Hardware: HP Pavilion model d4600y, Core2 Duo CPU, Intel P965 chip set.
(Despite predictions elsewhere on this mailing list, the P965 _does_ seem to
work just fine for VT.

CentOS 3.8 and ESS ES1878 sound chip?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I can't seem to be able to get any sound out of my CentOS 3.8 laptop. I
have the ESS ES1878 chip in it. It can work in either native mode, or
in SoundBlaster compatible mode. Neither is detected by CentOS 3.8.
I've looked at the directory with kernel drivers, and there doesn't seem
to be any kernel module that smells like either

Which chip to buy when building a server for Xen
In building my server where I plan to deploy Xen, is there anything to gain
noticeably, if I went with an Intel chip that has a QPI vs DMI bus type?

Disk-On-Chip problem/question
Hi all,
I've done a lot of searching (on this list and elsewhere) and I'm stuck
at a point where I don't know what to try next.
I'm trying to boot Linux off of a m-systems DOC using SYSLINUX 3.31.
Here's what I have thusfar:
1) formatted the DOC using m-system's DFORMAT tool (installs the BIOS
extension)
2) Created a C partition (FAT16)
3) Run syslinux c: (I've
