kate and W3C timed text
Hi ogg.k,
I've just been asked what the difference was between Kate and the W3C
timed text format (http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/) and whether there
was any compatibility. It migjht be a question and answer to add to
the OggKate wiki page.
Cheers,
Silvia.

Audio popping in OggDS
Hi all,
I'm experiencing problems with the OggDS filters. The main one is that when I
play back an audiovideo OGG file (2 x stereo audio track, one played at a time)
the sound is popping and crackling continuously. I thought it was buffer
starvation but it was not. Even if I save to wav the decompressed vorbis track
it contains the popping. It is very audible.
Is it a known problem?

Re: [livid-ovd] putting the video into ogg multimedia
I'll get to the technical aspects of these letters in a bit; they require an a
little thought and I'm knee deep in the codebook engine right now...

Offtopic: royalty free music for multimedia presentation.
Hi!
Sorry for being somewhat offtopic but I'm hoping someone can help me. I need
to download some music I can use in a one-time non-commercial multimedia
presentation (technically speaking I'll be demo-ing ogg123 :-)). I don't care
what it is, only it musn't suck and be somewhat suitable for general audience.
RMS's speeches simply don't cut :-)
So far all music I found on

New to list -- glennrp
Hello, speexers.
I'm new to the list and new to audio compression. I've been asked to
look into creating a digital archive of 20-minute speeches (sermons)
and speex seems to be what I need.
My experience is in image compression; I shepherded gzip, deflate, zlib,
and png through the IETF process, put "image/png" through
the IANA registration process, and I maintain several

MT9 Capabilities
Sorry, but i wasn't sure the best place to post this. I was looking for some
forums but it doesn't look like Xiph has any official ones. Anyways, i heard
about this MT9 think a while ago and i thought it would be awesome if FLAC,
Vorbis, and all could implement something like this.

Support for layers and alpha channel?
First of all congratulations on reaching alpha status.
I was wondering if you people are implementing multiple layer support
into the codec. I don't know if it should be in the container (ogg) or
codec (theora) but perhaps the syncing requires at least support in the
codec.
For example a commercial: a cup of hot chocolate with steam escaping.
Little action, low bandwidth. Then comes the

SPEEX_SET_USER_HANDLER once again
Hi,
Sorry! Marc Gimpel. I wrote it in a false thread before. It was my
first time. :-)
I have to write a small programm which should be able to record speeches
and in addition synchronize the recorded speeches with measuring data.
My idea is to record the speech in the normal way with speex and without
ogg. If a sync message was received, i write a custom in-band messages

text mining
The following code is derived from a paper titled "Text Mining Infrastructure
in R" (http://www.jstatsoft.org/v25/i05/paper). The example below seems to
load some default documents for analysis, some sort of latin document. I
cannot for the life of me figure out to load my own document let alone an
entire corpus. I have searched the above documenet as well as related
documentation.

We have a text-phrase codec called Writ in early implementation state
which can be used to supply this functionality and much, much more.
A short use of it's functions include song lyrics, speech transcripts,
text subtitles, chat (input provided through another system) along with

Problems with rJava and tm packages
I am looking to do some text analysis using R and have run into some issues
with some of the packages. Im not sure if its my goofy Vista OS or what but
using R 2.8.1 i s relatively successful loading the text but the rJava
package was messed up somehow:

How to handle nested and not nested resource in an action's controller?
Hi list,
I don''t know whether the subject is understandable / what i really mean. I
have a model which resources are nested and non-nested (CMIIW). Anyway, my
routes.rb should explain:
map.resources :speeches, :collection => {
:upload_file => :get
}
map.resources :bundles do |bundles|
bundles.resources :speeches
end

Snipping the beginning off Theora files
Hello all,
I'm sure that this must have been answered by someone in the past, but I
couldn't find it.
I have downloaded the Theora files of the 6uadec Gnome conference from:
http://stream.fluendo.com/archive/6uadec/
While it is great that they have them available, most of them seem to
have a lot of video of empty room before the speaker starts (sometimes
20 minutes or so). I am wanting

Appended element in a sortable
Hi,
Is there any way to get a sortable to recognize that a new element has
been appended to it without calling Sortable() again? The element gets
added using an AJAX call and it''s not draggable until after I recall
Sortable().
Also, any predictions on when the sortable tree is going to be
included in the library? I''m really looking forward to using it.
Thanks,
Eric Zwick

Trying to bind an appended partial that has REST_in_place attached to it with jquery?
In my create.js.erb view I am creating a new model in the view. On
creation I want to have the appended partial in the dom and
selectable
so I can click it''s name and run the plugin REST in place with
Jquery.
#create.js.erb
$("#new_show").before(''<div id="flash_notice"><%= escape_javascript
(flash.delete(:notice)) %></div>'');

CONFIG and appended directory; current directory
I've been testing the CONFIG directive and config.c32 module and I've
found a possible issue. It seems to ignore the directory of "/" but
can otherwise go up and down a directory tree perfectly. Executing
COM32 chdir("/") does seem to work.
Also, I noticed that the config file name is relative to the old
present working directory (herein pwd) and not the new pwd
