ov_raw_tell() not working properly!
I'm working on an application where I need to record
the current playing position and return to it later.
and I need this to be done the most efficient way, so
I used ov_raw_tell() and ov_raw_seek() because the
documentation says they are the best when speed is a
concern.
but the problem is that sometimes ov_raw_tell returns
the same value before and after calling ov_read;
here's an

exact relative positioning of lattice plots
Hello,
I have two lattice plots for which panel.height is fixed. I am trying to position them in a column so that there is exactly half an inch of vertical space between them. This would be a simple task if I were not fixing panel.height. But given that I am, I can't find a way to put exactly half an inch of space between the plots. Is there a way?
I've checked the Sarkar and

Memory consumption
Hope everyone had a festive easter weekend!
Is it possible to monitor how much memory iptables or kernel consumes
while processing packets as they go through the firewall? The same
question goes for having a large number of routes in the routing table
(>700).
A few reasons for asking, but the two major ones are from the
following situations:
1. We provide 420 flats in a complex with

Synchronous playback on multiple clients
Hi icecast community.
Has anybody tried (and found a way) to have synchronous playback on
multiple clients? We have a couple of rooms and it would be nice to be
able to have one central server that you can throws files at that should
be played and then listen to this stream in all rooms. We have machines
in most of the rooms which would then play the stream. The problem right
now is that the

Exact FLAC subset constraints
I think you've found a bug, Bart.
flac 1.2.1 did not have any FLAC__format_blocksize_is_subset()
function, so the source you're seeing in format.c must be new. If the
format documentation you linked to is correct, then either the
specifications are self-contradictory, or the code is not
implementing the subset checks as described. My interpretation is
that blocksize bits of 0110

Building a new decoder - some questions on the spec (residue decode)
Hi
I am trying to build a new decoder in Java, I know there are a couple
of java decoders already but they don't implement the bit of the spec
I am having questions on
Question 1)
In section 8.6.2 it mentions
"However, it is also possible to set [residue_begin] and [residue_end]

a range partially or wholly beyond the maximum vector size. Before

Can we have have protected methods in our REST controllers?
I gotta be quick, sos if it seems rushed.
Latest word from DHH is that the REST conttrollers should only have 4
methods :
Create, Update, New, Delete
If you don''t know about DHH''s latest thing then leave now, or go read
about it on his blog.
Does this mean i can''t have private methods in my controller?? I have a
method that create and new share.
Thanks

Strange issue with windows positioning
Hi, I just compiled and installed the latest compiz from git head and
I have a strange issue with windows positioning: all newly created
windows are placed at 0,0 (upper left corner) of the screen, so the
title bar (and menu bar too) is under my gnome panel. I attach a
screenshot to show the problem. I can't understand if this is a
problem of compiz configuration (plugin order or something

Positioning a legend via X and Y coordinates
Dear R Users,
I'm able to display a legend using the following code:
> legend("topright", c("Simulation", "Observation"), fill=2:3, bty="n")
However, this causes the legend to be positioned too close to the bars in my barplot. I'd like to move the legend up slightly. I have been trying to determine the necessary values by trial and error to do

liquid positioning of draggabels
Hi,
is there a way to keep the positioning of draggables "liquid" after dragging
them.
See this link for an example:
http://www.suss.com/dragtest/index.htm
If you just open the page and increase/decrease the size (e.g. STRG+ mouse
wheeling)
both boxes keep their relative position. But as soon as you drag the red
box, it''s position
is fixed and only the size of the box changes

Positioning plots on top of each other (aligment & borders)
Hello,
I want to place two plots on top of each other. However, the problem
is that I can't figure out a simple way to align them correctly. Is
there a way to specify this?
Since the data is bunch of coordinates and the second layer is an
outline of a map (a .ps file I import using the grImport package), I
suppose one option would be to specify a set of "artificial"
coordinates that

Positioning main title
Hello,
I have a barplot where each row has quite long texts and I have used "par"
to make some room in the left:
par(mar=c(0, 17, 3, 0), oma=c(0, 0, 0, 0))
barplot2(prueba, main = l, col=colores, horiz=TRUE,las=1, cex.names=.7)
My problem is that main text appears justified to the plot. I want to put it
in the middle of the image, and find a way to sort it out with mtex

cat and positioning of the output
Hello R users!
I like to use cat in a loop. I know, loops are not the best way in R ... but
my question: It is possible to overwrite the expression "Reading row: i" in
each iteration of the loop (print out in the below loop on the screen) or
more particulary to overwrite the counter "i".
for(i in 1:header$M){
cat("Reading row: ", i)
