PATCH: mandir incorrectly set in Makefile.in
The following is a small patch to Makefile.in that fixes a problem when --mandir is passed to configure. Currently this (standard) option is ignored, being overridden via an explicit setting of MANDIR in configure. m.
--- BEGIN 'diff -u' OUTPUT ---
--- TRANSFORM/PATCH/Makefile.in Wed Feb 13 23:41:28 2002 +++ TRANSFORM/PATCH/Makefile.in.original Wed Feb 13

automake 1.6 compatability patch
This patch cleans up the vorbis-tools Makefile.am files so they work with both automake 1.4 and 1.6. Some changes to configure.in were also needed in order to get things to work (and to fix some ac 2.50 issues). Please remove config.h from cvs as it is a generated file and empty anyway. automake 1.6 isn't really incompatable with 1.4, it's just more picky about you sticking to the rules:

Fink's vorbis-tools patch
Thought this might be useful to at least consider being included in 1.0.1. It adds, among other things (maybe), an endian variant of AIFF-C. [PATCH] contrib/cygwin/Makefile: Install ssh-copy-id
Hi, could somebody with checkin rights please apply the below patch to the Cygwin postinstall Makefile? The patch adds two changes: - Install ssh-copy-id and ssh-copy-id.1 as well. - Gzip all man pages. Chasing the "ads_add_machine_acct: Insufficient access" problem
Okay, the jist of this whole thing, I get this infamous (?) problem, I have been trying to search though the archives of samba-general on gmane and also in my archive of this list. I have only seen requests for the magical answer. Environment: W2K/W2K3 mixed ADS going Native ADS only soon. Samba 3.0.4 compiled from source on a RHEL AS30 machine. MIT Kerberos v1.3.4 also compiled from source.

problem building vorbis-tools-1.0rc3
I download all the tarballs for rc3. I compiled and installed all the libraries successfully, but I wan't able to compile the vorbis tools (1.0rc3) package succesfully. I can run configure successfully, but when I run make it dies with this make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/vorbis-tools-1.0rc3/oggenc' /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -O20 -ffast-math -fsigned-char -o

Bug#536175: Bug#536175: Bug#536176: xen-utils-3.4: trying xen-3.4 once breaks xen-3.2 (?)
Here is a patch to the Debian xen-3 3.4.0-1 package that reenables ioemu. I have been using it for the last four weeks. (I understand there are reasons this cannot go into Debian yet, but hopefully it will be useful to people that depend on running HVMs today.) [PATCH] minor Cygwin documentation fix
Hi, the information about how to build SSH under Cygwin isn't foolproof enough. Especially missing packet dependencies resulted in a few complaints. Could somebody please apply the beloiw patch to contrib/cygwin/README? Cross Compiling Samba 4.0.6 for ARM increases size of binaries
Hi, I have cross-compiled just the basic samba 4.0.6 using bitbake recipe for ARM, which succeeded. However the resulting binaries are large in size. I used the exact same configuration options in both the cases. There is at least a 10 fold increase in the smbd compared to native x86. --- Native x86 ---- -rwxr-xr-x 1 pranavd users 92979 May 31 10:57 /usr/sbin/smbd -rwxr-xr-x 1 pranavd users

Case-sensitivity problems with smbmount on linux
[This seems like it should be a FAQ, but I searched for quite some time without finding anything.] Mounting a samba share using smbmount under linux leads to problems when dealing with filenames that differ in case only. These problems do not affect WinXP mounting the same share, so it looks like a client issue. The server is running Samba 3.0.1 on linux, kernel 2.4.20. The relevant part of

Fw:ldap access domain AD failed on 4.7.6 and 4.8.0
Hi, I want to use samba as AD on SLES 11 SP3. And I can make samba 4.5.x into some rpms which works well. Recently I try to build samba 4.8.0 using my spec file which works well on samba4.5.x. But when I test these rpms there is a problem. When I use ldap to access the domain to query some domain info, it remains me the directory service is not operational. This problem also appears in

Re: [PATCH] gobject: Add Vala binding support
Thanks for the quick review, I addressed the comments but couldn't run `make dist` because of some issue with `libguestfs.pot` while building. So please review it carefully (even if I followed the recommended steps to include Vala support as written here https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/Vala/UpstreamGuide#Autotools_Integration ) Regards, Corentin >From

Bug#805508: [PATCH] tools: allow configure time choice of libexec subdirectory.
Currently we hardcode various paths such as $libexec/xen/{bin,boot}, however some downstreams (notably Debian) would like instead to install things into $libexec/xen-X.Y/{bin,boot} as part of allowing multiple versions of the tools packages to be installed. Since this currently involves patching configure its a bit fiddly, provide a configure option for the leaf dir instead, name it
