What to do with ODD encoder for AudioGrabber Cd-Ripper ?
Once i've run into misfeature.
I've grabbed an Audio CD with one of russian opera's, and its comment been
wirttenas a 8-bit ANSI text.
When i tried to play them in WnAMP - the comments were unreadable.
Peter (the author of WinAMP OGG plugin) told me, that the comments must be
encoded using UTF-8.
I wrote it to the author of AudioGrabber and he told me he will forward it
to plugin

Fwd: what about storing free-cddb-id in comments inside .ogg ?
Is there a standard field inside OGG comments to save freedb-id of the
original CD, which track was grabbed from?
If not, may this be a little wish for Ogg Vorbis format specification?

Karaoke
Ok, both mp3 with id2v2 and Vorbis allow you to store the lyrics within the
song.
But do You know about karaoke format? That is midi with lurics as one of the
tracks.
Can such a modification be made to OGG Vorbis?

Anybody running VirtualDub ?
Hi!
I just tried to run VirtualDub 1.5.10 with current wine from CVS.
The program runs, but when the video playback is started (or even the video
file is just loaded), all the screen except the window with the first video
frame goes black. The video is played properly. All is alive and well,
underlying windows/icons are there and they react on the mouse, windows can

VirtualDub and enconding with DivX, XviD
Hello,
I am trying to get the latest wine (Wine 20030219, fake windows) working
with the
GordianKnot (0.27). Unfortunately, Virtual Dub is not be able to compress a
avs-file with the DivX-codec. It crashes if trying to. Also, it would be
nice to compress an
mpeg-source with Xvid but also it crashes. BTW, VirtualDub does
not list it in its codecs window ?f "msvfw32" is set to

Broadcasting w/o server
Ok, there are cool complex products such as SHOUTcast and
icecast, but is there some simplier solution?
What i need is simple plugin, allowing other guys in home
LAN listen the same thing that i do? I do not want to
download/install/setup one more program such as server. I
do not need complex things. Just one and very simple -
share my current winamp sound.

I've recently discovered a rather nasty bug. My login password is

Problem with Divx codec in VirtualDub
Greetings..
I've been trying to use Virtualdub for converting videos, but each time I
click on Save to AVI it gets stuck if I try to use the Divx Codec version
4.X. If I tell it not to use the codec everything works well.
How can I do to let it use that codec? I have a Debian Sarge system running
Wine 09-04-2002. I use a fake-windows instalation but I can get DLL files

Ogg Movies
Hi!
I was very pleased when I realized that it is possible to use OGG VORBIS for
compressing the audio streams of my movies.
But because the AVI standard (*.avi) doesn't support VORBIS audio streams, I
had to use the OGG MEDIA standard (*.ogm) instead for my movies.
Are there any tools (or VirtualDub plugins ???) for editing Ogg Media
Streams?
I would like to change the Video FrameRate in

File descriptor leak in 1.0rc2[45]?
I upgraded (NetBSD 2.99 i386) from 1.0rc7 to 1.0rc24 and then tried rc25,
and in both cases need to restart Dovecot every day or so (low volume server).
It seems to run out of file descriptors. I have now raised the file descriptor
limit to 1024, but that is not a long-term solution...

Changing FS type reported by Wine
Hi,
Is there any way to make Wine report a filesystem type other than FAT32 to
applications (specifically, NTFS)?
The reason I ask is that VirtualDub (a video postprocessing package) refuses
to allow creation of files greater than 4GB on what it thinks are FAT32
drives. I know it works perfectly with really big files (>50GB) on NTFS
because I've used it on WinNT.
Thanks

ACM stands for Audio Codec Manager. It's a DirectShow SDK's interface.
There's a lot of Software for Windows capable of using ACM codecs, like

Vorbis ACM
Does anyone have a status update for this project?
The sourceforge page doesn't offer much info:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/vorbisacm
I'd love to be able to use Vorbis to encode audio from within Virtualdub,
etc, etc, not to mention the ability o play Vorbis files in Windows Media
Player. Too bad I don't have the skills to write it myself.
Thanks,
