libogg2 issue in revision 10730
hi all
I found that in the revision 10730 of the libogg2 library it is
impossible to do bitpacking. this is due to the implementation of the
(at least) two functions oggpack_writeinit() and oggpack_readinit().
they both take an (oggpack_buffer *) as an argument and immediately
erase all it's contents:
void oggpack_readinit(oggpack_buffer *b,ogg_reference *r){
memset(b,0,sizeof(*b));

AMD64 bug
The theora_unpack_comment casts a pointer-to-int to pointer-to-long. This
is incorrect on AMD64, where ints and longs are of different size. On my
system (Debian unstable, gcc 4.1) this causes players to crash when they
reach the end of a movie. The patch below fixes this bug.

Vorbis plugin for RealOne Player
Hi All,
I am trying to build an Ogg/Vorbis plugin for RealOne Player through the
HelixCommunity source. During runtime, however, I saw an access violation.
I did some debugging and narrowed it down to the following function in the
Vorbis source..
int vorbis_synthesis(vorbis_block *vb,ogg_packet *op){
vorbis_dsp_state *vd=vb->vd;
backend_lookup_state *b=vd->backend_state;

libvorbis without encapulsation
Using libvorbis (1.3.5) I wish to extract the raw vorbis packets.
I've built some simple code on the excellent libvorbis API overview on
the xiph.org site, but the example relies on the ogg_packet struct for
final output and input to decoder, and shows now examples on how to do
without it.
Taking a look at the vorbis_bitstream_flush() function, which in the
overview is the last step before

debugging question.
Hi,
I am using libvorbis-1.0.1 and I am trying to debug the example decoder
(examples/decoder_example.c) using gdb. I have compiled the source tree
for debug and can single step through the program.
However i am facing the following problem (which I think is more of C
than vorbis)
1. after single steppig I finally arrive at the function shown below
(in file lib/info.c)

Bug#383793: libtheora0: not 64-bit clean
Package: libtheora0
Version: 0.0.0.alpha7-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch
The theora_unpack_comment casts a pointer-to-int to a pointer-to-long,
which breaks badly if ints and longs are different sizes. The attached
patch fixes this.

More Missing Pieces
Hi,
I am making good progress on understanding, documenting, and
re-implementing VP3. I have found some more deadwood in the decoder code
and I just wanted to verify that it really has no place:
* Version 3.3 tables: There are 2 sets of VLCs: One for v3.1 and one for
v3.3. The v3.1 set is always selected. Are the v3.3 tables in production,
or will they ever be?

Problem creating ogg comment header for theatrical/stage/disco lighting stream
Hi, I am creating a new ogg stream for theatrical/stage/disco lighting and
am having trouble encoding my comment header with the following code in
_tp_writelsbint function, it does not write the second byte to the ogg
buffer. I am using windows and have created a new win32 library project with
visual studio and added my code, what do i have to do to get the function
working? Is there a project

Small memory leak...
Hi all.

More trival questions
Hopefullly this is once again something trivial I'm missing. I'm still trying to figure out how to pull a part a stream. I get two out the three theora headers I can see in the file (http://v2v.cc/~j/theora_testsuite/320x240.ogg) if I use the buffer in the page struct and nothing usable if I try to use the packet structs. Hopefully this is once again something something trivial I've

how to arrange the codeword tree into array form
hi,
i am porting ogg vorbis decoder on to a24- bit dsp
platform. i would like to know how he is arranging
the binary tree into an array form. i think this
process is done in _make_words in tremer code. i
would be if some one could explain me the exact
algorithm or where can i get it?
i am attaching the code here for your reference.

Vorbis primitive API examples (LONG)
Okay, how do I drop a changeset/patchset/tag for you folks from SVN?
At this point, I have written three examples of how to use the basics of
the ogg streaming and decoding in Tremor. I heartily welcome any
suggestions, improvements and corrections that you can point out in the
code.
The examples required me to make some small modifications to the main
tremor library. However, the changes

comments+tags CD data
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a standised way of recording the CDDA
database number (the information stored on a CD to help look up the CDs
details on the net)in the tags?

(no subject)
Hello Monty,
I tried to complile vorbis under win32 (using MS Visual C 5.0)
I found some things:
1.)
In bitvise.c there must be buffer cleared after malloc:
void _oggpack_writeinit(oggpack_buffer *b){
memset(b,0,sizeof(oggpack_buffer));
b->ptr=b->buffer=malloc(BUFFER_INCREMENT);
+ memset(b->ptr,0,BUFFER_INCREMENT);
b->storage=BUFFER_INCREMENT;

Tremor + upstream libogg
Hi vorbis experts!
I'd like ot write application under Symbian that use theora as video
codec & tremor as an audio one. I played at first with libogg &
theora on PC, then successfully ported them both. Next I decided
to port Tremor but I found that it use its own files from Ogg library.
The API is almost identical, so I tried to bind the Tremor with upstream

Should the vendor tag be updated for 1.0.1?
Hiya:
Since 1.0.1 is going to include minor tuning fixes that have an effect
on audio quality in certain circumstances, I think the vendor tag should
be updated according to the attached (and quite trivial) patch. (I chose
20030902 because that's the date of Monty's commits that included the
tuning fixes.)
