AW: VorbisExt prerelease
Hi Warren,
is this shell extension able to modify multiple ogg files, either each one
after another, or within one transaction (e.g. adding a comment to all
files; stripping all comments from all files)? Or would I have to use the
context menue for each separately?
So long

Urgent FreeBSD Boot question!
Dear friends:
I decided to go out and buy the latest issue of Linux Format with the
FreeBSD 6 CD. I am very glad I did. FreeBSD is tough to install, but
after spending several hours I finally succeeded in doing a perfect
installation. ONE BIG PROBLEM: When I removed the CD and rebooted, I got
into my Windows XP (I have two separate disks, one for Windows, one of
FreeBSD). There was no way to get

AW: Are AMDs preferable? [was: Choosing a processor]
Hi Joane,
I think AMDs are 'preferable' of cost/'performance unit'. For standard
applications you will have to compare a Duron-900 to a P-III-933; and AMDs
will perform much better when it comes to number crunching. And now -- have
a look at the prices...!
I wouldn't buy any Intel chip today... this may be a 'European' habit, but I
think it isn't / shouldn't

Yes, you can: whenever you are unable to make a decent backup at least once
a week, your diskspace must be considered to big.

Bug#852545: Config file in xen-hypervisor package likely causes problems on upgrade
Package: xen
Version: 4.8.0-1
Severity: important
Starting with 4.8 the xen-hypervisor-4.8* package will contain a grub config
file in /etc/default/grub.d/xen.cfg. This will be causing problem when moving to
Xen 4.9 because then xen-hypervisor-4.9* will try to install the same file again.
This will prevent two versions of the hypervisor to be co-installable. Maybe the
solution would be to have a

systemd-sleep
I found that one of my users' workstation is, for some reason, running
systemd-sleep. I cannot find, anywhere on the system. system-sleep.conf
(or systemd-sleep.conf), nor do I find systemctl status system[d]-sleep.
How can I turn this thing off, other than renaming
/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sleep?

Sorry, I should have included some urls.
To briefly summarize, mng is an animated image file format from the people
who designed png, and is essentially a multiframe extension of the same.
png (pronounced 'ping') is a format developed by a group of volunteers as
a replacement for

dump-file per source per mount
Hi,
First of all, thank you for having made wonderful software!
I organise http://www.tpolm.com/ Lazy Sunday Radio and we are totally
icecast2 based,
use streamTranscoder to convert the various global ogg sources to mp3, we
have fall back
streams (currently playing) and all that. A really nice setup, thanks to you
:)
I would like to request a feature for dump-file to be able to dump each

Two 3D cones in one graph
Dear R-users:
The following code produces two cones in two panels. What I would like
to have is to have them in one, and to meet in the origin. Does anyone
have any good ideas how to do this?
Thanks for your help

dump-file per source per mount
Hi !
Maybe you could find something with this line in the <mount> section of the
icecast.xml file:
<dump-file>/tmp/dump-example1.ogg</dump-file>
But I prefer to use streamripper which can do this easily on a client side:

DTrace MFC broke kldstat(2) on RELENG_7
Hi,
I recently noticed that kldstat(8) started to dump core for me on
RELENG_7. I traced the problem down to kldstat(2). r182231 (DTrace
MFC) introduced a new version of kld_file_stat struct and added some
code to support the old version of the structure in kldstat(). In the
new code the old structure is known as kld_file_stat_1. Unfortunately
there's a bug in this code: kldstat() copies

Proposal for Xen HVM example configuration
Hi,
I did accidentally discover a quite useful feature in the Xen HVM
configuration file. I here by suggest it to be added in the example file
located at </usr/share/doc/xen-utils-common/examples/xmexample.hvm.gz>.
It seems that you can configure Xen 3.1's Credit-Based CPU Scheduler by
adding settings cpu_weight=128 and cpu_cap=20 in the configuration file
itself. Though I
