Re: FLAC format
Hi, >That's what I wanted to say a month ago. Mr. Blum, I'm really sorry for misunderstanding you. My mistake. I choose an ACM codec because it's the only option that works on every Windows Platform, and since the DirectShow has a generic wrapper that allows it to use ACM codecs, it appeared a good idea. I didn't note that the file format was going to be a problem. But I think

ACM codec
Hello everyone, I was just browsing through some video capturing websites/forums and saw some people complain that there was no lossless codec available to encode audio in AVI files. I thought that FLAC would have one but it doesn't seem to be the case. As it's a popular demand (now that hard drives are inexpensive, people can record hours of video/audio without any loss and then

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian. Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP. I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska. The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the codecs available. This is much preferable of course

Ogg Movies
Hi! I was very pleased when I realized that it is possible to use OGG VORBIS for compressing the audio streams of my movies. But because the AVI standard (*.avi) doesn't support VORBIS audio streams, I had to use the OGG MEDIA standard (*.ogm) instead for my movies. Are there any tools (or VirtualDub plugins ???) for editing Ogg Media Streams? I would like to change the Video FrameRate in

Win32 DLL
I've put together a first cut for a Win32 DLL using the BladeEnc interface. Right now, it's just a drop-in replacement for BladeEnc.dll that ignores all encoding parameters passed to it and uses the info_A vorbis_info struct (same as the encoder_example). It's not particularly useful as of yet, but you can rename it to BladeEnc.dll and use it with any number of rippers out there

ACM driver binary 'release'
Dear vorbis developer community, time has come to release a first binary of the ACM driver. I need some feedback of what it does or does not. Please not that this is still a "private" release that is only intended for use by the vorbis developer community, therfore I ask you not to distribute it, you can expect that future version of the driver won't be compatible to this binary.

Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
At my company we have a bunch of music in FLAC format. We want to play it using the Windows Media Player, but none of us can get the illiminable DS filters to work. Here are some details. Illiminable DS filters http://www.wmplugins.com/ItemDetail.aspx?ItemID=681 http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/ We are using the latest build available on this website, and I have read all the known issues. The Speex ACM codec has been released as version 1.0.1.1. Enjoy! Here is a list of changes: * A setup application has been added to the release. Just click SETUP.EXE and follow the instructions. * The crash under Windows 95/98/ME was fixed. * A reported crash in VirtualDub, CDEx and possibly other applications was fixed * The codec's Format Tag was changed to an official Microsoft

Windows ACM codec status
What is the status of the vorbis ACM codec? I certainly hope I am not the only one with a vested interest in its development and there's been no talk of its status on the list lately. Re: ACM codec
Mr. Blum, I had to make some assumptions writing the driver, because I had no previous experience writing ACM drivers. I did what I could based in Microsoft's documentation but, of course, I made same mistakes. I had no time to test the code I wrote yet and will not in the next 2 weeks. All I can tell you now is about what I did and about my sources. So, considering your enthusiasm, I suggest

FLAC format
HI Josh, I'm starting now to compile the ACM codec. I don't know how long it will take, since I do it in my free time, but I guess it will not take to long. About Mark Powell's comment, with an ACM codec there will be a lot of Windows GUIs for FLAC. I'm writing this message to talk about the FLAC format. The GUIs for the Audio Codec Manager, including Winamp and Windows Media

Re: [vorbis-dev] ACM codec
My concern is primarly the 'marketing' aspect. If UCI, or MCF, or any other interface, is adopted by the toolmakers, then that's a perfectly good solution. <p>-----Original Message----- From: Christian HJ Wiesner [mailto:christian.hj.wiesner@web.de] Sent: Tue 11/12/2002 10:10 AM To: theora-dev@xiph.org Cc: Subject: [theora-dev] Re: [vorbis-dev] ACM codec

Speex ACM no longer Beta (Houston, we have a release!)
Christian, I have successfully integrated your ACM codec in our applications, but I have run into one minor issue. In a code comment you imply that fmtnotice is an optional part of the WAVEFORMATEX extra data. I tried to play a file that had no fmtnotice but Windows did not recognize it as valid and did not play the audio. Your work is very much appreciated here and we are anxiously awaiting
