title streaming with ices
Hi all: Recently Stream Licensing LLC has changed their requirements so that streaming internet stations in the US must title stream the album along with the song title and artist. I use ices for the backup automation when no live programming is taking place. Ices shows the song title and artist on the player with no problem. My question is how I configure ices to show the album as

Licensing Issue with JRI
Hoping someone can clear up a licencing question... My understanding is that R is licensed under the GPL, with some headers licensed under the LGPL (per COPYRIGHTS, so that R plugins don't have to be GPL - arguably incorrect, but besides the point). JRI states that it is licensed under the LGPL - but it links against R shared libraries (or so is my understanding - please correct me if I'm

Problems loading siar package
Hello, I recently bought a new Macbook Pro and installed R via a disk image from an older computer - it seems to work fine. I then installed the package "siar", tried to load it via the library command and received the following messages (note the "mvtnorm" package did not appear to load correctly): trying URL

lme() doesn't converge on IGF example
Running the Chapter 4 examples in Pinheiro & Bates' "Mixed-Effects Models in S and S-PLUS" (2000), I get a message that the default optimizer doesn't converge, but using "optim" for the optimizer results in convergence: > > library(nlme) > > fm1IGF.lis <- lmList(IGF) > > fm1IGF.lme <- lme(fm1IGF.lis) > Error in lme.formula(fixed =

trying to understand OSS, GPL, BSD & other licensing model for software distribution.
Hi all, We are busy developing some software (some is web based, others not) and I am having a bit of hard time understanding (or rather, choosing) a license model to work with, We will offer some free software (PHP based scripts, and even Windows based applications) and for this I'm sure the GPL, or even LGPL (for the network side?) will work fine. But, we also need to suppose these

os/2 support using Watcom
The attached set of patches adds support for OS/2 using Watcom compiler (tested with Open Watcom 1.9). My only interest was building a working dll (the last patch in the set adds a makefile for it), therefore I did not touch other places: If there is interest, I can do so. Column name disappears when indexing a single column (PR#12532)
Good Day, I can understand that after indexing a single column in a matrix, R will return a vector instead of the single column. However, during the conversion to a vector, the column name is lost. I was wondering if it would be better to have R return a single column matrix (retaining the column name), instead of automatically converting to a vector. Users could use as.vector() to convert

Basically this is what I'm trying to do: create a Linux File Server to replace my old WinNT 4 File Server. I would like it to show up under all my XP clients on network neighborhood just like the old server, with each account on my
