ogglame and LAME 3.85 beta
Hi there, I have a question on ogglame, especially on its compression quality. I've download the binary package of ogglame from www.vorbis.com. It works fine. I've also tried LAME 3.85 beta that supports the encoding and decoding of Vorbis streams. I believe that ogglame is a beta version of LAME. I built LAME using libvorbis in the CVS nightly snapshot fetched on July 19th. I fixed

Newbe: OK so far?
OK, I found LAME's web site and installed it using the source for it. That appears to work. I also found a couple of libxml... packages and either replaced the existing ones and added a few others. That went without problem. However the same problem exists. I found that the lame.h file is in a directory of /root/lame3.70 Perhaps the make can't find it at this directory? IS there

Never mind I found the latest version of LAME and got the 3.87 version as you mentioned. When I did the gmake (interesting that it is no longer make) it still got the same errors. I copied the lame.h file to the directories /usr/local/include, /usr/local/include/lame, and even to the same directory as ices and still got the same error! Any ideas what to try next? Thanks, Scott -----

WEIBULL FRAILTY MODEL HELP
Dear R users, I try to write an rcode for a paranetric weibull model with unobserved heterogeneity. The data I have are giuven below. ( The data comes from Keiding and Klein artricle published in the Statistics in Medicine 1996) . While the simple weibull model runs perfectly ( I get -2*loglikelihood 1093,905), the weibull frailty model does not run well. The code I write is :

Where can I find the 3.87 version of LAME? I've seen nothing later than 3.80 and this was just for documentation. The place I'm looking is lame.sourceforge.net. Perhaps you know a site that has the latest and greatest... Scott -------- Thomas Vander Stichele wrote: > > OK, I found LAME's web site and installed it using the source for it. Yet another LAME re-encoding question
Yes, I have checked the archives :) I am running Ices 0.2.2 with icecast 1.3.10 and LAME 3.87. I have compiled Ices without any problems, it found lame.h and the libraries, my problem is that when I run ices, it doesn't re-encode the files. This is the command line I am using to play around with: ./ices -b 64 -H 64 -F playlist -h localhost -p 8000 -P letmein -r -v The log shows nothing

AW: ices question
hi , my guess is you connect all of the clients to the same mount point, causing icecast to interleave the data. Which is obviously not a good thing. If this is the case, then you should get the errors as soon as you start the second stream. i start any stream via sh-skript like : ./ices -B -d Radiocity -F /music/playlists/alternative.pls -m /alternative -g Alternative -h localhost -n

But if ices -V lists LAME as a feature, then I guess it does. I'd recommend upgrading anyway, there were some bugs in the library which ices exercised. > compiled Ices without any

filling small gaps of N/A
Hi everybody, I'm a new R french user. Sorry if my english is not perfect. Hope you'll understand my problem ;) I have to work on temperature data (35000 lines in one file) containing some missing data (N/A). Sometimes I have only 2 or 3 N/A following each other, but I have also sometimes 100 or 200 N/A following each other. Here's an example of my data, when I have only small gaps

Newbe: OK so far?
I tried the 3.70 rpm and received an error that rpm couldn't handle the version of whatever packaged it. So I had to do things by getting the source and compiling. The same was true with lame. Also I copied all the lame headers to the /usr/local/include directory, did the ./configure which seemed to work and then did the make, which didn't. Any other ideas? Thanks, Scott ANGEL
