rsync of a reflink from OCFS2
Hi,
i have some virtual machines running on logical volumes formatted with OCFS2. I'd like to snapshot the running guests
to backup them easily afterwards. The files of the guests are big (100 - 300GB), but the content changes only slowly.
So i thought that rsync would be a great benefit because it justs transfers the difference between the current file and
the one backuped one day before. I

can't define domain - error: cannot open /dev/null: Operation not permitted
Hi,
i have a two-node cluster running on SLES 12 with pacemaker.
The cluster refused to start the domains on one node.
So i took some of the domains out of the cluster and tried to start it manually.
This is what happened:
virsh # define /mnt/share/vm_documents-oo.xml
error: Failed to define domain from /mnt/share/vm_documents-oo.xml

concurrent migration of several domains rarely fails
Hi,
i have a two-node cluster with several domains as resources. During testing i tried several times to migrate some domains concurrently.
Usually it suceeded, but rarely it failed. I found one clue in the log:

Patent troubles...
Hi everyone.
Reading all this posts about patent issues, I thought of something:
if, by some wild chance FhG (or some other audio company) manages
to prove in court that vorbis is breaking their patent rights, you could
do something like LAME developers did: release only source code and
let people do the compiling so that only users that are living in countries
where patents on algorithms are

Live-Migration not possible: error: operation failed: guest CPU doesn't match specification
Hi,
i have atwo node HA-cluster with pacemaker, corosync, libvirt and KVM.
Recently i configured a new VirtualDomain which runs fine, but live Migration does not succeed.
This is the error:

rsync of a reflink from OCFS2
--no-whole-file would only make it even worse. It would have to read
the remote file over the network in order to do the diff then it would
write the whole file over the network anyway (--inplace would help a
little). Local copies force --whole-file for a good reason.

Hello,
I am triyng to shutdown my riello idg 800, (which is working quite well atm with nut 2.7.2 deb package under jessie), obtaining the result below; have I any chance to succeed?

snapshots with virsh in a pacemaker cluster
Hi,
i have a two node cluster with virtual guests as resources.
I'd like to snapshot the guests once in the night and thought i had a procedure.
But i realize that things in a cluster are a bit more complicated than expected :-))
I will shutdown the guests to have a clean snapshot.
I can shutdown the guests via pacemaker.
But then arises the first problem:

Few questions concerning clipping
I noticed that clipping occurs in lossy audio compression even
if there is no clipping in the original file (though the original
file has peaks that are just below the maximum). I know
that this happens due to all the filtering involved during compression,
but I'm wondering just how audible this clipping is because I don't
hear anything wrong. I mean, as things are now, is it safe to say

Cascading?
During the interesting interview that binaryfreedom has made with Monty
and Jack, Monty mentions cascading, a feature that will be added, quote:
"Cascading is the ability to make multiple passes through the frequency
spectrum, iteratively filling in more detail, like a progressive jpeg".
What are the advantages of something like this - does this generally
improves quality or is it used

Difference between compressed & uncompressed audio?
I would like is someone could give me a few hints on how to
distinguish whether a WAV file is uncompressed or it was
created by decompressing mp3 file - I usually could take a
look at the file through Sound Forge and look if there is a
freq. cut-off (usually above 16kHz) or if there isn't one -
then I can easily tell by listening if there are high-frequency
artifacts (common for mp3). Is there
