Trouble building libvorbis-1.0rc3
Hi all, I was just trying to build myself a RC3 set of Ogg/Vorbis libs and tools, but the build of libvorbis bombs out on me while making all in examples. I've ./configure'd with no options, which gave no warnings or errors. After that a normal make gives the below attached output. Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong ? I've also tried removing the examples/ directory. After

Decode questions
Sorry, to interrupt the license flame war... I downloaded the source from CVS as of 11am this morning and there are a couple of issues that I ran into: 1) I built the package and then in the examples dir I executed the following commands: # cdparanoia -B 1-1 # ./encoder-example < track01.cdda.wav > test.vor # ./decoder-example < test.vor > out.wav The rip and the encode both work

Decoder example question
Hey all...I'm trying to use the decoder_example.c in the examples directory to decode a .ogg file that was encoded by using the binary encoder ogglame.exe and encoded via the encoder_example.c. I'm running into a problem with the decoder though. It plays FINE under the WinAmp plugin but I when I try and use the decoder_example.c to decode the file it says "End of file before finding

Clean separation of encode and decode?
Is anybody interested in cleanly separating encode and decode in vorbis? I'm trying to take a stab at it myself from the head of cvs as of this morning, but it looks like a lot of files contain both encode-only and decode-only functions. An obvious one is mdct.c, which contains mdct_forward and mdct_backward (which isn't that big of a deal, since both are pretty well-contained, but it

need help with project on Vorbis
Hello, First off, please don't ask development questions directly from a single developer. I tend to answer emails only a few times a month. You will get much faster help by asking on IRC (#vorbis on freenode) or on the vorbis mailing list (vorbis at xiph.org or vorbis-dev at xiph.org). I am cc:inf vorbis-dev at xiph.org; please continue discussion there. > Initially i was not able to

Problems running example encoder/decoder
There isn't a lot of guidance on how exactly to run the codec I compiled out of cvs just now, but I expected the following to work: cat test.wav | encoder_example | decoder_example But the decoder fails with: End of file before finding all Vorbis headers! Is this a bug? Or am I missing something fundamental? Should I attach the test.wav? -- Daniel --- >8 ---- List

Asterisk 1.2.7/9.1 mp3 volume is good, wav file of same volume are too loud!
Ok, Here's another bizarre one (no strange curve balls to throw this time :P). I have several mp3 files of some easy listening music that I pulled off some CDs we have. They sounds fine and are at a nice volume level. When I run this script I wrote: (I run it by doing ./script < filename) mpg123 -s --rate 44100 --mono $1.mp3 > $1.raw sox -r 44100 -w -s -c 1 $1.raw -r 8000 -c 1 $1.wav

vorbis module compilation problem
[I just got on to this mailing list to report this problem. If it has already been reported, then I'm sorry for duplicating the report. And I seriously doubt this is not the right topic to talk about on this mailing list, but if it is, sorry for that too.] Okay, here's a new one. I have never seen this error before. This is the latest CVS code I'm trying to compile, on a pretty close

Icecast 2.0 in OS X Server?
Folks; I am having a hell of a time trying to get IceCast 2.0 installed on an Apple XServe running OS X 10.2.3. The problem seems to stem from one of the libraries required by IceCast, specifically libvorbis. When running MAKE in an attempt to install libvorbis I get the following: <p>Making all in examples /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -DDARWIN -fno-common

m3u list - encode/decode?
I'm now trying to use an m3u formatted list to pass to ezstream rather than stdin. Since all of my audio files are in .wav format, and I have oggenc, I see no reason to decode them before ogg encoding them. Is there a configuration I can use to make this happen? I tried omitting the decode parameter and ezstream complained. Here is what I have now: <ezstream>

Vorbis on OS/2
Following a few months of lurking on the list, and vainly trying to get vorbis to compile on os/2, I finally managed to get the nightly gzip from saturday to compile (fairly) cleanly, and so have finally been able to play with Vorbis on my OS of choice :) Using the EMX runtime system, and bash for OS/2 (along with a few ported GNU apps), both configure and make work fine (except for ogg123

Outputting Sound from decoder_example
I am running the decoder_example file but instead of ouptutting the PCM to sdout I would like to output it to the soundcard so that I can hear the file playing. I am using Visual C++. Could someone please tell me the quickest way to do this. I am quite new to Visual C++ so don't assume that I know about the foundation classes. Thanks, Paul PS I managed to build the GUI using the

Anyone working on a Windows decoder?
Hello, It seems to me like one of the next high priority tools should be a Windows ogg->wav decoder. I think this would help speed up the acceptance of Vorbis since people could just make their own audio CDs from it. Is anyone working on this? Does the decoder_example provide most of what is needed to do it? Is it just a matter of wrapping the WAV structure around it and compiling it on a
