Accessing maildir snapshots through dovecot
Hi,
I'm currently having a fairly simple setup:
- users (real, not virtual)
- Maildir storage (over NFS)
- 1 namespace
I'm currently trying to render the storage snapshots available through
dovecot (to allow my users to browse their mail history).
dovecot.conf:
namespace {
inbox = yes
location =
prefix = INBOX.
type = private
}
I did the following modifications:

Hi!
Users have asked us about CVS snapshots, because they don't want or can't
use CVS for downloading recent iptables development code.
We have now set up a script for providing daily CVS snapshots.=20

Shadow Copy2 & zfs Snapshots
Hi there
I'm having some troubles with Shadow Copy2 & zfs Snapshots. I have
hourly and daily snapshots. If I use the following settings it works
(but omits daily snapshots):
vfs objects = shadow_copy2
shadow:snapdir = .zfs/snapshot
shadow:sort = desc
shadow:localtime = yes
shadow:format = easysnap-hourly_%Y-%m-%d-%H-%M-UTC
However when I try to use the BRE with the prefix,

CVS Snapshots
Hi,
There don't seem to be any CVS snapshots being produced at the moment
(since 22/7). My environment is severely restricted here and snapshots
are the easiest way for me to keep up with the CVS tree. Is this a
temporary problem or are they gone for good?
Cheers,
Leigh.

DocBook and XML
I think I can say I've been officially horrified into a coma.
During a routine rebuild after installing DocBook tools, I wandered
away.. and then back and after half an hour, the build was still
stalled on the same command: xsltproc.
Huh? I thought, has it crashed?
Strace revealed that it was making a bazillion connections all over
the net. Loking at the XML, it's clear why. Because

Using a namespace for providing access to mail snapshots for user based on-demand restoration of email backups
Hi all,
I'm planning on implementing this in my new upcoming dovecot instance,
and would like to hear thoughts on how best to accomplish this. We will
be paying Timo's support company to do the work, but obviously, the less
work in the form of coding he has to do to get this working (I'm hoping
it won't be a lot), the more money it will save us... ;)
First - I currently use

vfs_shadow_copy2: unmount snapshot while user is restoring from it
Hi Jeremy,
The use case is that we want to automatically rotate the snapshots.
For example, we want to keep 24 hourly snapshots, and every hour we
create a new snapshot and unmount the oldest one. But since customers
can be restoring from the oldest snapshot right now, it is not
deterministic when we will be able to unmount the oldest snapshot. So
at that moment we want all active restore

Can't untar snapshot.. scard missing from CVS?
Hello-
I'm testing the current versions on UnixWare 2.x and have run into
the following problems:
After downloading the nightly snapshot, untar fails with
"Directory Checksum error". Gunzip is successful, but the tar
fails.
Failing the snapshot extraction, I checked out a clean copy from the
CVS. Configure fails when it hits the "/scard" directory, which is
empty. I

vfs_shadow_copy2: unmount snapshot while user is restoring from it
Hi Uri,
Thanks for your response.
We do not want to delete the share in smb.conf and later to
reconfigure it without the shadow copy. We want to keep the shadow
copy and rotate the snapshots. For example, we want to keep 24 hourly
snapshots, and every hour we create a new snapshot and unmount the
oldest one. But since customers can be restoring from the oldest
snapshot right now, it is not

A Top Level README for the nightly CVS snapshot
I ran into a dependency problem while compiling the CVS snapshot which
did not occur while compiling the beta 3 tarballs. For some missing
resources, autogen.sh echoes very helpful messages (such as if automake
is not present), but there was no indication that the kdelibs-devel
package was required for ao (in order to get artsc.h into /usr/include -

Possible to dedpulicate read-only snapshots for space-efficient backups
Hey list,
I wonder if it is possible to deduplicate read-only snapshots.
Background:
I''m using an bash/rsync script[1] to backup my whole system on a nightly
basis to an attached USB3 drive into a scratch area, then take a snapshot of
this area. I''d like to have these snapshots immutable, so they should be
read-only.
Since rsync won''t discover moved files but

Asterisk snapshots?
Hello everyone,
I am working on something now that could really use a snapshots. For
those that are not familiar, basically what it involves is having a
server with httpd running automatically checkout asterisk and friends
from SVN, tar it up, and place it in a directory with the date that is
accessible via HTTP/FTP. That way automated build systems, etc can use
those snapshots without
