[ Compile error in CVS, entry for a FAQ somewhere, place for test/comparison files to be uploaded?]
>Also, 'portaudio' doesn't appear to produce a static library at all, so it doesn't appear to be possible to get a working splayer executable on Linux unless there is a 'hidden' way to get the portaudio distribution to build one. ("ldd: -lportaudio not found"). I believe splayer is only intended to be a Win32 executable. Note that it is in a directory

Status of Windows Theora builds
Hi all, Just a heads up to let you know that I've fixed up the Visual C++ project files so that libtheora and the associated experimental programs (dumpvid/encoderwin/splayer/transcoder) builds on Windows again. I also have good news and good news. The bad news is: experimental\splayer doesn't work. It compiles, but segfaults immediately when you try to play any Ogg file. The bug

Derf, It looks like your cleanup patch broke the encoder? Until it's fixed, folks are advised to use yesterday's lib. -r --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'theora-dev-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. player_example vs splayer
Speaking of portability and people more familiar with SDL: The reason we have two example players for theora is that monty wrote the original example around the OSS audio interface used on several free unix-like operating systems, which immediately excludes win32 and MacOS, even though it used SDL to display the frames. SDL also has audio support, and is quite widely ported. splayer replaces

can't get to work windows player
Hi! I'm having some trouble with theora in windows, I would really appreciate if you could be able to give me a hand with this. First, I was not able to build theora in cygwin, because I built vorbis and ogg perfectly, but when I try to run ./configure with theora it can't find the ogg libs, if I use the --using-ogg-path = ... with /usr/local/lib it runs ok, but then it fails to compile

[Interopcast-general] about translatingdocumentation, but not only documentation.
Just a few weeks ago, I was thinking of writing a streaming source using libshout and portaudio. I was also considering LADSPA support, to do some minor post-processing before encoding. However, I'm currently developing on Mac OS X, and LADSPA's shared library plugin model has some issues here to be resolved. Another nice feature I have given a thought on is incorporating

Asterisk now available with bundled pjproject!
The current Asterisk 13 and master git branches have a new feature that will be included in 13.8.0: The ability to compile and run Asterisk with a bundled version of pjproject. ?? Why would you want to do this? Several reasons: - Predictability: When built with the ?bundled pjproject, you're always certain of the version you're running against, no matter where it's

Cross Platform Audio Library
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on an audio library that is better suited to be paired with Celt in terms of latency. I'm working on an application that I would like to have running on both windows/Linux systems. I started by using the OpenAL library but I have run into an issue when feeding OpenAL small mono sample sizes that

It's a question of getting the compiler environment setup to do the port. Much of libshout and ices2 are ready but, certain things like live input are different from whats in windows. karl.

problem with theora files inside container
hi folks! i modified theora_splayer.c using libportaudio to a version which only decodes 1 frame per request, vorbis audio functionality has been removed. my video-only theora Ogg files are inside a container, directly appended, offset info accessible via some file index header. i modified the fopen call in the source to open the main archive, find out where the requested embedded file begins,

Echo canceller
I am using 'portaudio' and 'speex' to implement a speech audio capture/playback. Preprocess works fine but not the echo canceller (associated with preprocessor). I have read 'testecho.c' but it didn't help me. What I am doing bad? This is my implementation: One thread to capture and playback, both are different functions called in different times directly from

speex_echo_cancel, please help!
Hello, Need some help using the speex_echo_cancel. I've read the documentation about the speex_echo_cancellation function: speex_echo_cancellation(echo_state, input_frame, echo_frame, output_frame); (in) echo_state => speex internal state. (in) input_frame => audio captured by mic. (in) echo_frame => the signal that was played in the speaker. (out) output_frame => the

hi, ok. i am pretty new to this list, but there seems to be little activity at all. first of all, here is a screenshot: http://greenthumb.jabberstudio.org/video.png - it's screenshot of my buddy list in my jabber client (java based). I have a simple (or not so simple) task to achieve: stream the video from one end through the jabber server to another end and show the stream in my buddy

Creating histograms from factors using a for loop
# I have a dataframe with data and factors similar to the following: a <- rep(c("a", "b"), c(6,6)) df <- data.frame(f=a, d=rnorm(12)) df # I am trying to write a 'for' loop which will produce a jpeg histogram for each factor. I can individually isolate the data from a factor and produce a jpeg histogram like so: fnc <- function(x){ x <-

Aspect ratio question
Hi, despite the warnings on the website ;-) I played with the current CVS source of theora on Windows 2000 w/ Microsoft Visual C++. The codec and the "experimental" example programs compiled fine. I also encoded a 33 MB MPEG2 (?) video (3 minute trailer) to a 14 MB .OGG using "mplayer -vo yuv4mpeg -ao pcm" and the "encoderwin" sample program, and play it with the

Echocancellation on windows
Hi all, does anybody has ran echocancellation successfully on windows ? I have a problem playing audio there. If you play a wav file no mater how I play it after comparing the captured data with the original file there is always difference in the audio length (for 18 sec of audio there is more than 250 ms of difference). Which of course breaks echocancellation. I've tried playing the audio

[Newbie] - Start with Vorbis
Hi, I'm new to this ML and I'm sorry for my banal topic...and for my bad english! I want to start using Vorbis in my app but the first question I have made myself is: "Is possible to recording from an input device with the vorbis libs? Or the libs is intended for encode/decode only?" Tnx in advance! Regards. Daniele. -- Free As In Freedom
