Unbalanced parentheses printed by warnings() crash text editor
Hello everyone, Hope it is the good place for this (I discuss the question of the right place below). Most of the time, warnings are more than 1000 characters long and thus are truncated. Most of the time, this generates printouts with unbalanced parentheses. Intelligent text editors which do parentheses highlighting get very confused with this. After too many warnings, they give errors, and

Theora player for Nokia Series 60
I've made a start writing a Theora player for Series 60 phones (mostly Nokia phones, but some Samsung and Sony Ericsson ones too). Download here: http://symbianoggplay.sourceforge.net/OgvPlay/OgvPlay_010.zip I've been using Big Buck Bunny, Elephants Dream and a few other ogv files for testing. I've uploaded 320x180 versions of those here:

Libtheora
Hi all, I am Sahana. I am currently working on Libtheora for windows platform and very new to it. I am getting a lot of compiling errors. Since Libtheora depends on libogg and libvorbis i have added these as well to my workspace in VC++ 6. I have a doubt regarding the x86 and x86_vc folders described in the libtheora software.Since both these folders have the same set of files which one do we

dovecot-2.2.32/src/doveadm/doveadm-mail-fetch.c: 4 * suspicious expression ?
Hello there, dovecot-2.2.32/src/doveadm/doveadm-mail-fetch.c:130]: (style) Suspicious condition (assignment + comparison); Clarify expression with parentheses. Source code is if ((ret = doveadm_print_istream(input) < 0)) Maybe better code if ((ret = doveadm_print_istream(input)) < 0) Some duplicates: [dovecot-2.2.32/src/doveadm/doveadm-mail-fetch.c:220]: (style) Suspicious

Instance variables versus local variables
This novice coder roughly understands the difference between instance and local variables thanks to David Black''s excellent book, but I''m still unclear as to when and why a either is more desirable to use. In general, I use instance variables in my controller and local in my views, but I''m not sure as to why or if this is correct. Thanks Joe Kowalski

Why LLVM doesn't have debug information of function right parentheses?
I have implemented this exact behavior in an out of tree LLVM fork I maintain, where one of my users needed this behavior, and it seems to work well. What we have done is extend the definition of DISubprogram to contain a new field "endLine" which holds the line number of the closing brace. A pass late in our backend uses this information to set the DebugLoc of return instructions in our

Markdown.pl 1.0.2b8
Download: <http://daringfireball.net/projects/downloads/Markdown_1.0.2b8.tbz> Changes from 1.0.2b7: + Fixed bug with nested raw HTML tags that contained attributes. The problem is that it uses a backreference in the expression that it passes to gen_extract_tagged, which is broken when Text::Balanced wraps it in parentheses. Thanks to Matt Kraai for

quotes in Rscript -e through system
I figured out how to use quotes and parentheses when using Rscript -e (on a bash shell): Rscript -e write\(1,\"a.txt\"\) --> Question 1: why do the parentheses need to be escaped in the shell? (More a shell than an R question) Then I figured out how to use quotes and parentheses when calling Rscript through system: system('Rscript -e write\\(1,\\\'a.txt\\\'\\)')

Why LLVM doesn't have debug information of function right parentheses?
Simple Case: 1.int main() 2.{ 3. int i = 0; 4. return 0; 5.} compile command: clang -g a.c In LLVM IR, we have one attribute named "scopeLine" to indicate the left parentheses. But we don't have one attribute to indicate the right parentheses (line 5 in this example). So if we use gdb to debug it: (gdb) b main Breakpoint 1 at 0x100005c8: file a.c, line 3. (gdb) r Breakpoint

ANOVA: Does a Between-Subjects Factor belong in the Error Term?
I am executing a Repeated Measures Analysis of Variance with 1 DV (LOCOMOTOR RESPONSE), 2 Within-Subjects Factors (AGE, ACOUSTIC CONDITION), and 1 Between-Subjects Factor (SEX). Does anyone know whether the between-subjects factor (SEX) belongs in the Error Term of the aov or not? And if it does belong, where in the Error Term does it go? The 3 possible scenarios are listed below: e.g., 1.

[LLVMdev] instruction/intrinsic for segmented adressing
Hi, would like to use LLVM as backend for a compiler. One of the features I would like to implement is segment based addressing for position independent data. For some it may sound strange, for others the opposite. No need to write complex story. Imagine you have a custom alocator that manages an area of 1GB of memory. Your application uses a custom allocator to allocate memory inside this area,

Parentheses for precedence?
I''m not sure whether this is a bug or whether I''m simply expecting Ferret queries to work in a way other than they''re intended. I notice that if use a query like: (other_text:"Collaborative tools") AND NOT other_text:podcasts I''ll get correct search results. However, if I put parentheses around the second part, like:

re moving parentheses/square brackets from data frame numbers
Dear list, I am importing data consisting of numbers into dataframes. Some of the numbers are flanked by parentheses or square brackets. Thus, they are not recognized as numeric and the corresponding column is of class "factor" which makes it hard/impossible use in plotting functions. Is there a way to remove brackets from numbers in a column/row/dataframe? Kind regards, Stefan --

virt-v2v trouble converting Xen Centos 5.X to KVM Centos 6.3 or Fedora 17
Hi! I'm trying to convert some Xen guests running Centos 5.8 to KVM on Centos 6.3. Hopefully this is the right place to ask this question, if not, let me know and I'll go there instead! :) My setup: Centos 5.8 Host running Xen with a Centos 5.8 guest, and I want to transfer this guest to a different Centos 6.3 host running KVM. I am able to tweak the target server all I want, but the
