ffmpeg2theora icecast ubuntu edgy
Hi,
I just wanna share with you my experience with theora ffmpeg2theora,
icecast2 and ubuntu edgy. I wanted to broadcast live video on an Ubuntu
machine with ffmpeg2theora, oggfwd and icecast2.
I read the thread
http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2005-February/008608.html about
the stream dying after a couple seconds with libshout 2.0.
Now the same happens if you use libshout3 v2.2 with

syncing a live stream
Hi,
When I sync the a/v with just an icecast2 stream I'm starting at the beginning of the stream so it's simpler. But, when I read the stream from icecast2/ezstream I get the stream after the beginning and the a/v timing on the packets need to be handled differently. Does anyone know what approach I should take to sync the live stream? There has to be some generic high-level logic for an

The short answer is: don't put Icecast behind a reverse proxy.

help - Theora/Vorbis/Ogg, ogmmerge and ffmpeg2theora
Hi,
I'm probably being fairly stupid. But I did the following, starting with
the following two files:
# tcprobe -i vts_01.m2v
[tcprobe] MPEG elementary stream (ES)
[tcprobe] summary for vts_01.m2v, (*) = not default, 0 = not detected
import frame size: -g 720x576 [720x576]
aspect ratio: 16:9 (*)
frame rate: -f 25.000 [25.000] frc=3
# tcprobe -i vts_01.m2a

For a listener, Icecast is just an ordinary HTTP 1.0 server.
For a source client Icecast used to be a non-standard extension and used
the SOURCE method. We've deprecated this in 2.4.0 and now support PUT.

Icecast2, ezstream and reverse proxy
Hello
Ezstream is working well locally with Icecast2 on port 8000 on a Debian Wheezy platform. However, I use a reverse proxy (Pound) to pass all requests from the Internet for x.mysite.com to backend localhost:8000 i.e. my Icecast2 server. This works fine, i.e. x.mysite.com brings up the Icecast2 Status page. My problem is with the ezstream xml configuration <url></url> setting which

ffmpeg2theora start and end time support
For last few days I was trying to learn ffmpeg and libtheora API. In the
process, I have modified ffmpeg2theora code to include support for start
time and end time.
ffmpeg2theora -s 60 -e 130 file.avi
will produce file.ogg which will be from 60th to 130th second of input
file (something like -ss and -endpos in mencoder). This is a useful
feature for someone who wants to cut a part of video
