GSoC Apply, request for review
Hi, I am sending my application I submitted for the GSoC. There are still some hours left before the deadline, so if you have any remarks or a tip, I can still update it. thanks... i think there are some grammatical errors =(... == Name and Contact details == Andr? Theora Hardware: Integration with LEON is completed!
Hi, The Integration with LEON (first part of my GSoC) is completed. http://atlas.lsc.ic.unicamp.br/~andre.lnc/theora_integration_with_leon3_full.png At the last week I had (leon3 + linux + libtheora) and (leon3 + send_vector_of_input + theora hardware) working ok. Firstly, I thougth that it just would be: http://atlas.lsc.ic.unicamp.br/~andre.lnc/theora_integration_with_leon3.png But it

help with libtool!
Hi, Now I am working on BCC Cross-compiler in order to get the binaries for LEON3 (Google SoC 2007). I changed these lines of Makefile ... CC = gcc CPP = gcc -E ... to these : CC = sparc-elf-gcc -mv8 -msoft-float CPP = sparc-elf-gcc -mv8 -msoft-float -E The options means: -mv8 : generate SPARC V8 instructions -msoft-float : emulate floating-point When I run "make", there is a

Theora hardware is running on LEON3!
Theora hardware with LEON3 is runinng!!! My video was too slow, then I discovered that the problem was on LINUX! I don't exactly, but I suppose that the time of LINUX Call systems (like fread()) is the problem. If I don't use the linux (like is done on NIOS), I can to decode much faster than the time of exibition! Now we have two points on software (the hardware is the same,

Next step of Hardware Theora
Hello, First of all, I would like to say that my work that I wrote in the other email would be to do in hardware the functions: CopyRecon, LoopFilter and UpdateUMVBorder. These are modules that Leonardo had made, but it wasn't ok in FPGA. When I had a chat with Leonardo we were thinking in rewrite these module for to do this running in FPGA (to debug in a Hardware level is much more

Puzzling coefficients for linear fitting to polynom
Hi, I can not comprehend the linear fitting results of polynoms. For example, given the following data (representing y = x^2): > x <- 1:3 > y <- c(1, 4, 9) performing a linear fit > f <- lm(y ~ poly(x, 2)) gives weird coefficients: > coefficients(f) (Intercept) poly(x, 2)1 poly(x, 2)2 4.6666667 5.6568542 0.8164966 However the fitted() result makes sense: >

update encypted and LDAP
Hello all, I'm currently trying out samba-3.0alpha24 and moving to samba-3.0.0beta1 since we're getting into XP and encrypted passwords etc. I was hoping to set everyone (about 13,000 users) up on an LDAP (openLDAP) server with just the Unix crypt passwords for now and run with encrypt passwords = no update encrypted = yes for a while to populate the NT/LM password hashes before

Theora running on FPGA
Great news! Theora is running on FPGA. After almost a year of a great effort we have Theora validated on FPGA. Now I will try to integrated the hardware with a video controller to see the video! I completely implemented the ExpandBlock, CopyRecon, LoopFilter and UpdateUMVBorder functions. The ReconRefFrames function was partially implemented and the part before will run on a software compiled

hide body of function
I would like to hide the body of function, when the user types the name of that function. For example, I've created "ff" function (cut/paste from R-plus session): > ff<-function() { a <- 5 } #then, if the user types "ff" > ff function() # This part is shown but I'd like # this body to be # hidden from the user, if possible. {

multivariate analysis
Hi I have 1800 response variables to regress on two factors (latitude and age), what is the script to run all response variables at once instead of writing 1800 models? Doubts about ADE-4
Hi, I'm having some troubles in using the ADE-4 package. I want to analyze data for the Outlying Mean Index in the function 'niche'. I've got two matrixes: one for environmental data and the other for species abundance data. But to implement the analysis, as I understand it, I need to put tocheger these two matrixes in one, as in the example provided with the package. Un

Quantitative analysis of non-standard scatter plots.
Hi, I am having difficulties in finding ways to analyse scatter plots and quantitatively differentiate between them. Since this is best demonstrated by a figure, I have attached one with 4 subfigures (a)-(d). Qualitatively (and I hope you would agree with me), sub-figures (a), (b), and (d) seem to represent uniform 2d scatters. It is hard for me to quantify it, but it seems as if the envelopes

PXE in wonderland
Hi, I have collected a bunch of old PII PCs that I am trying to PXE boot. There NICs are old and so I use etherboot floppy to emulate a native PXE boot. I have configured tftp, dhcpd, pxelinux, and all the other stuff. Everything works fine till pxelinux start booting. Then it stucks after printing the IP row. --------------- pxelinux output ----------------------- PXELINUX 3.10 2005-08-24

[LLVMdev] Changing basic blocks
Hi all, A week agoo I sent an email about reordering instruction in basicblocks. And ... I was able to do it. I guess so, at least. Now when compiling my test program, llc dumps: -- llc: /home/mentat/llvm_work/llvm/lib/CodeGen/LiveVariables.cpp:155: void llvm::LiveVariables::HandleVirtRegUse(llvm::LiveVariables::VarInfo&, llvm::MachineBasicBlock*, llvm::MachineInstr*): Assertion
