I would be happy to add this statement.
Could you let me know where to insert this statement in the xml
document? I am using xml2rfc to generate the draft. Or alternatively
point to other documents (.xml sources) that have the

Do not forget to add the "Copying conditions" to the RFC.
Check http://wiki.debian.org/NonFreeIETFDocuments
That page contains a section titled "Template for RFC authors to
release additional rights". To follow that guideline a
section like the following should be added:
x. Copying conditions
The author(s) agree to grant third parties the irrevocable

Hi
Please find an updated version of the Speex I-D attached. The only
change is addition of the copyright conditions in Appendix A,
as requested by Ivo.
Many thanks for your input.
I will give you a few more days before submitting to AVT working group

I'm no expert, but I recommend adding it in the Full Copyright
Statement section.
More or less like this:
Copyright (C) The IETF Trust (2007).
This document is subject to the rights, licenses and restrictions
contained in BCP 78, and except as

Libtheora
Hi all,
I am Sahana. I am currently working on Libtheora for windows platform and
very new to it. I am getting a lot of compiling errors. Since Libtheora
depends on libogg and libvorbis i have added these as well to my workspace
in VC++ 6. I have a doubt regarding the x86 and x86_vc folders described in
the libtheora software.Since both these folders have the same set of files
which one do we

"Q. Isn't VP3 a patented technology?
Yes, some portions of the VP3 codec are covered by patents. However, the
Xiph.org Foundation has negotiated an irrevocable free license to the
VP3 codec for any purpose imaginable on behalf of the public. It is
legal to use VP3 in any way you see fit (unless, of course, you're doing
something illegal with it in your particular jurisdiction). You

libtheora-1.0alpha7 release
All,
I've done a new alpha release of the libtheora reference implementation.
This is mostly build fixes from the alpha6 release; I'd failed to enable
the new MMX asm by default, and the x86 asm code did a relocation that
caused problems on SELinux.
You can get it in the usual place:

up-to-date debian packages?
The debian (unstable) libtheora and libogg packages are a little out
of date. I was wondering if anybody had made their own packages for
libogg-1.1.1 and libtheora-1.0alpha4.
If not, I'll go ahead and package them up and put them up on my own
debian repository or something, and let you guys know where to get
them.
But if somebody has already done that, let me know.
thanks,
Tim

segfault on amd64 with ffmpeg
Hi,
and thank to you all for this great codec !
I have this bug on Debian Lenny with compiled packages of last svn versions of
ffmpeg and libtheora. This seems to append only on the amd64 arch. Here is a
valgrind log :
pre-barreau at augustins:~/video$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib

Hi
My PC is Intel Pentium P4-HT, running Linux kernel

Sampling encoder timings between libtheora-1.0 & libtheora-1.1beta3
As requested by Ralph in my introduction e-mail to this list [1], I've
gone ahead and done some sample test timings for encoding between
libtheora-1.0 and libtheora-1.1beta3, as available from the Theora
website [2].
So far, I've tested with 4 different files that I generated with content
I already have. The files, in brief, are the following:

building libtheora 1.0 on win64
I have an old conferencing app that uses theora and I'm building it for
win64.
libthora 1.1 builds just fine, but libtheora 1.0 has errors related to
assembly code when building for x64.
I've tried using 1.1, but the video does not look right -- the clients all
generate their own first 3 packets instead of sending them over the network
since they assume they are all on the same version

libtheora 1.1 (Thusnelda) stable release
We are pleased to announce a new stable release of libtheora, the

Theora video format. This new release, version 1.1, codenamed
Thusnelda, incorporates all of the recent encoder improvements we have
been making over the past year, though some of the code had its

FFmpeg Theora encoding patch
Hi,
Attached is my patch to add theora encoding to ffmpeg's libavcodec (by
using libtheora). I am requesting help to fix the bug I mention below
and am seeking general comments before I submit the patch properly.
Files encoded using this encoder have a problem playing in VLC. The
files will not play unless "Drop late frames" has been unticked in the
advanced video settings.
