FFmpeg Theora encoding patch
Hi, Attached is my patch to add theora encoding to ffmpeg's libavcodec (by using libtheora). I am requesting help to fix the bug I mention below and am seeking general comments before I submit the patch properly. Files encoded using this encoder have a problem playing in VLC. The files will not play unless "Drop late frames" has been unticked in the advanced video settings.

Tips for theora encoding?
Hi, I wrote a plugin to enable LiVES (a video editor) to encode theora/vorbis/ogg files. I'm looking for some advice towards improving quality. If someone would like to help me test this please note that you'll need MPlayer, ImageMagick, sox, the encoder_example from libtheora (somewhere in the PATH), and Python 2.3.0 (this is fairly all standard stuff). Consider the following clip:

Theora encoding tips
Hi, I sent this message to the theora list but I'm not sure if it got through (activity seems to be very low, regardless). I'm hoping I have better luck here. choppy audio playback
Oh, wise Centaurs, On the last install (Suse) I was running on this old notebook (Dell i600m) the audio worked fine. Specifically, Realplayer and onsite players (like you get at NPR and other sites) and youtube played just fine. But with this current install (CentOS 5.3, fully updated) all of those sources just mentioned play choppy. It's like an echo so severe that it's impossible to

choppy motion/rectangles
Greetings.! In rapid action frames, I see lots of small rectangles which many together render a choppy sense of motion. I've attached screenshots in attempts to convey what I mean: http://24.16.26.121/screenshots/images/1253914810.jpg http://24.16.26.121/screenshots/images/1253914788.jpg I understand the lack of h/w acceleration and such, but I feel this can go away. If I am at all

FEAR Combat mouse lag/choppy
I've been trying to get FEAR Combat to work out with WINE and, at first, had no problem with any mouse lag. Then, started getting ridiculous and unplayable choppy mouse lag. All while the game itself runs over 100 FPS. The mouse lag kills it. I'm running WINE 1.3.17 on Ubuntu Maverick (64-bit) 10.10 Please and thank you anyone who can help me with this! D:

sip <> zap calls choppy, where to setup the jbuffer?
Hello all, cell <-T1-> zap <-internet-very remote-> sip (ip430) The audio is choppy ONLY to cell USER. The polycom user says the audio is fine. SIP-SIP calls sound good for both parties. Where should I setup the jitterbuffer? The zapata.conf (recent * 1.2) and/or the polycom configs (fw 2.0.3)? Any tips with the zap or polycom settings below would rock. Packet loss - average

Older DirectX games, choppy
Hello: I've been a user of Wine for quite some time, but have an issue that I cannot figure out. Hopefully it is somewhat simple. I'm trying to get some older kids games working (most of the games are dated around 2002 or so). I know they use some version of DirectX. They aren't even 3D, they are all 2D games. The issue is that some of them are really choppy, and the sound is

Amnesia - The Decent running very choppy
Hey. I'm new to Linux based operating systems. A friend of mine introduced me a year ago and I finally decided to try it so try to bear with me here. The problem I've been having is that I've managed to get Amnesia to work under the latest Wine version (1.3.31) but the game is really choppy. I've tried messing with the Wine configuration and the in-game configuration but it

Wildcard X100P Choppy Sound and Chipmonk Recordings
Hello, I recently purchased a Wildcard X100P FXO Card primarily as a learning tool and to provide myself with voicemail and a few other perks that are better than an answering machine. I followed the setup in the FAQ, and it works, just not well. The sound is very choppy and staticy whenever a call is placed. Sometimes it clears up, and sometimes it degrades very badly. I also recently

Choppy communication issue
I've setup a trial Asterisk install based on the RH8 install guide mentioned on this list. (Thanks, Andy!) I've configured two other working systems with SJPhone software for SIP. However, while I can call the phones, the communication is choppy. About every three or four seconds it cuts out briefly and then returns to normal. Perhaps someone can give me some pointers. My setups are

Asterisk and SER - choppy sound with G.729
Hi, We are using Asterisk running on FreeBSD, as IVR / Voicemail for SER. We have redirected certain calls from SER to *. On * there is some 'testing' extension. It's simply playing some demo now ;-) As long as I use plain G.711 the sound is nice. When I switch to G.729 the sound is choppy, not recognizable. What is going on? Debug shows everything is normal.. I understand that all

SipTone II and Choppy/Stuttering Audio
Hi All, * is running a dream now, however we have an odd problem that I am sure some guru will be able to sort out for me in no time!! When receiving or making a call about 60 seconds or so into the call we develop choppy/stutter audio problems. It then seems to clear itself only to return again, and so the pattern carries on! This has got me stumped! Our equipment is SipTone II handsets, AVM
