decoder init/clear
Enabling the following function in tests/noop.c: noop_test_decode () { theora_info ti; theora_state th; theora_info_init (&ti); theora_decode_init (&th, &ti); theora_clear (&th); theora_info_clear (&ti); } segfaults. The cause is that theora_decode_init() expects a theora_info structure which was previously initialized by passing actual bitstream data through

Bug in src/player_example.c
Hi I've just started development on a streaming TV player using Theora as a real time encoder. The player currently uses the majority of code in src/player_example.c. I discovered a bug which was preventing the player from working correctly, but which only showed up in my player; it didn't seem to affect the original player_example. I've now found the cause, which is indeed a

[PATCH] icecast video preview
Hi. Here it is my patch to put a video preview of a theora stream in status.xsl. I just added a: <video-preview>1</video-preview> parameters in icecast.xml.in that control the previewing function. It encodes a png in $webroot/$mountname.tmp and then move it to $webroot/$mountname.png As for now it saves a frame every theora keyframe, which is probably too heavy for the server but

Trying to do windows encoding dll
Hi everybody, me again. I'm trying to write my own VFW-like dll... It doesn't need to do much. 1.) compress a single frame and give it back to the host application 2.) host applications sends the frame 3.) client application receives frame 4.) client application tells the dll to decompress the data So if I try to do this, something is going wrong... Perhaps someone could have a look at my

Newbie: How to rewind a videostream (long)
Hello, I'm new to this list, and pretty much also to the codec universe. In a computer game I'm working on, there is an 3D TV-screen onto which I project the frames of a movie. The movie is of course stored as theora, no audio as it's not needed yet. I have it working so far, extracting a frame and uploading it to the graphics card when the scene is drawn. The example file

boxplots
Hi! My name is Martin and I have a problem concerning the boxplot function in R. I want my boxes to be limited by the 1st and 3rd quartile and NOT the 'hinges' values that are the default setting in R. Do anyone knows if there is any command that I could do to change this default setting? Sincerely Martin Olofsson

PostProcessingLevel field of PB_INSTANCE
What is the PostProcessingLevel field of PB_INSTANCE? When is it used? It is used for all Theora's video or it is just for legacy support with VP3? Thanks -- Leonardo de Paula Rosa Piga Undergraduate Computer Engineering Student LSC - IC - UNICAMP http://www.students.ic.unicamp.br/~ra033956

bitstream changes
ok now I see why we need another packet in the header. The first one is basically for ID purposes (theora_decode_header()). I've jammed my huffman trees in there but it sucks because I need them later on when I actually build the huffman tree structs (theora_decode_init, calls InitHuffmanSet()). At that point the original header packet is gone so I've been keeping it around in a buffer.

#include scheme in vorbis project
I'm trying to implement vorbis into our game engine as a substitute to mp3 and wma encoding. And I have some questions/suggestions in how #includes are done in vorbis. Right now ogg and vorbis stuff relies on ogg and vorbis include paths being in global (or local) include path environment. This could easily be avoided by using relative includes in vorbis: #include

Possible channel coupling bug in encoder
I'm not sure that this is not my fault, but here it goes: I'm trying to encode a 22 kHz Mono stream. I started with the encoder example and made it take dynamic channels etc. This is how I init it: vorbis_info_init(&VorbisInfo); vorbis_encode_init(&VorbisInfo, 1, 22050, -1, 128000, -1); then I get a crash in: _vp_quantize_couple(vorbis_look_psy * 0x01e6a6ec,

Performance tests
I did some testing of vorbis codec (Winamp plugin) on a Pentium 166 MMX, and found that the performance is pretty good. I got 3 % cpu utisization if I turned dithering off, and 5 % otherwise. This was with a 138 kbit song. It's pretty long to mp3 performance that was 0 to 1 % on that machine for a 128 kbit song. Also vorbis seems to have a larger working set, because if I play two songs at

Is this the right forum for this question, and if not, does anyone know where an appropriate place to ask is? Thanks Sam -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Hi, I am creating a new ogg stream for theatrical/stage/disco lighting and am having trouble encoding my comment header with the following code in _tp_writelsbint function, it does not write the second byte to the ogg buffer. I am using windows and have created a new win32 library project with visual studio and added my code, what do i have to do to get the function working? Is there a project

Hello Erik, Thank you to work. I have not checked to build them, though, I can tell you some comments, excuse me. * General - Please post patches to cfe-commits and to llvm-commits, too. (IMHO it would not be needed to split articles apart each lists as long as each would be related.) - If you can, please attach files w/o CRLF(dos encodings), or with attached text/plain. - You may

Question about number of frames in ogg/theora video file.
Hello. How can I tell the number of frames in ogg/theora video file, without actually reading the file? Or, how can I tell its playing time (which is basically the same thing). I didn't find the information in THEORA_STATE, THEORA_INFO, but with the codec installed (illuminable oggcodecs), Windows Media Player shows the ogg/theora file playing time, before it starts playing the file.
