Trouble building libvorbis-1.0rc3
Hi all,
I was just trying to build myself a RC3 set of Ogg/Vorbis libs and
tools, but the build of libvorbis bombs out on me while making all in
examples. I've ./configure'd with no options, which gave no warnings
or errors. After that a normal make gives the below attached output.
Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong ?
I've also tried removing the examples/ directory. After

libxml error (or am I just being dumb?)
I've been trying to compile ices and icecast all night. I have narrowed
the problem down to libxml. I have tried several rpms of libxml2 and
libxml2-devel all to no avail. I don't expect support on this alpha
release but just a reply to say that it's a common issue or wether I am
just a dunce would be nice. :)
Thanks
Hans

Compiling problem flac 1.0.4 Mandrake 9.0 gcc 3.2
I think the basic problem is that configure can't find any
C++ compiler on your system, which is required to build
some of the libraries. It's kind of hard to imagine that
Mandrake would supply gcc but not g++; maybe something else
is wrong.
Anyway, if you absolutely do not want any of the C++ stuff,
you can just remove the following directories from SUBDIRS
in src/Makefile

Compiling problem flac 1.0.4 Mandrake 9.0 gcc 3.2
Hi,
I just read the thread about making 3dnow optimisations default and thought I would test it as I have an AMD here.
Unfortunately I can not even compile with default (no 3dnow) options.
./configure goes fine including this part:
checking whether to build static libraries... yes
checking whether -lc should be explicitly linked in... no
creating libtool
checking for g++... no

libtheora-1.0alpha2.tar.gz make fails
Hi
My PC is Intel Pentium P4-HT, running Linux kernel
2.6.0-test10. I have the latest GNU automake/autoconf
system. The make fails on libtheora with the following
error msgs:

player_example.c:1:1: warning: this is the location of
the previous definition

Updating flac include problems
Lateral to Matt,
Matt, can you refresh my memory... I vaguely remember you
mentioning that my OUR_CFLAGS_HEAD/OUR_CFLAGS_TAIL change
to configure.in messed up debianization because it put
local includes at the head... am I remembering right? Is
there a way to resolve that problem *and* Ben's?

Re: speex 1.1.4 compile fails/vq.h parse error
It's not really documented, but when you compile with --enable-sse, you
need to add -march=pentium3 to the compile switches. That's actually a
gcc requirement.

Updating flac include problems
Updating the fink flac to 1.0.4, it won't compile because finds the
headers of the previous version in /sw/include, because the
CPPFLAGS/CFLAGS are being put before the local includes:
(configure with ./configure --prefix=/sw --mandir=/sw/share/man )
gcc -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"\" -DPACKAGE_TARNAME=\"\" -DPACKAGE_VERSION=\"\"
-DPACKAGE_STRING=\"\"

compile optimization error in libvorbis-1.0
Wow, I've never seen an FSF gcc crap out like this on a non-overheating
system. When lib/envelope.c is compiled with -march=i686, gcc gets a
signal 11, but not with -march=i586. I'm not sure whether to blame gcc
or libvorbis. There are apparently three other files in libvorbis where
this same behavior is seen.

MMX IDCT for theora-exp
Hello,
I'm attaching IDCT MMX patch. I reused IDCT from theora-a3-MMXd.zip.
It should work on 64bit X86 platform too.
Here is most used functions when playing video with jet aircrafts (gripen)
Ogg logical stream 310b2968 is Theora 720x480 29.97 fps video
Encoded frame content is 720x480 with 0x0 offset
I can play this video with like 200-300 frame drops on Athlon XP 1700+
