UCI Project Announcement
Greetings all.. I'm sending this message out here because I suspect that some
folks involved in the vorbis codec might be interested in the following (we'd
certainly like to make vorbis work well with UCI, and welcome any help in this
area). If this is not the case (or this is not an appropriate forum for this
sort of thing) I apologize in advance..

VP3 for xine 1.0-beta4
Hi,
Some of you may recall that I got the VP3 decoder working with the
xine multimedia player some time ago and posted a patch for anyone else
to try. I really messed up when I did that since I generated the patch
against some random CVS snapshot of xine-lib. I did better this time and
generated the patch against the latest release of xine-lib (1.0-beta4,
released today).

IETF Video codec Birds of a Feather session. Please participate. **TODAY**
Today at 17:40-19:40 Eastern Standard Time (22:40-00:40 UTC) the IETF
will be holding a Birds of a Feather session to discuss creating a
working group for developing a next generation video codec for
Internet use. Remote participation is open to everyone.
This would be an effort somewhat similar to what we used to create the
Opus audio codec. The IETF provides an open standardization process

Re: [vorbis-dev] ACM codec
My concern is primarly the 'marketing' aspect. If UCI, or MCF, or any other interface, is adopted by the toolmakers, then that's a perfectly good solution.

NHW Project - high compression (-l6 setting and below)
Hello,
I would like to thank very much the Theora channel community for their
support and help!!! And even recently a Theora channel member proposed me
to freely host on his server the NHW Project website, to present the codec
on the embedded processors, MCU forums that he knows well, another member
forked my GitHub repository!!! Really thank you very much!!!
It makes me think that maybe the NHW

<hmm -- you make a good point. However note that Divx is quite popular in
spite of having gone with AVI format, so your logic doesn't hold in that
case. <Frankly though I sort of agree, in that Divx would have been even

Fwd: final changes to mimetypes rfc
Excellent, thanks for noticing - will add that.
Also: question about the Dirac codec identifier in Ogg. It is
currently char[5]: 'BBCD\0' - but in your spec it is char[4]:
'BBCD'.
Which one should we put in?
Cheers,
Silvia.
