NHW codec - progress 2
Hello, Just a quick message to correct what I have said in my previous post.It finally seems not that easy to code small wavelet coefficients to have a good precision, and SPIHT is certainly a very good algorithm for that, -and I know there are SPIHT experts that can make very good SPIHT-based codecs-.I have chosen a new and different approach, the multistage residual coding, so I will try to

h265 codec pass through on asterisk
All, I'm using asterisk 16.4.0 with h264 and opus quite well using linphone 4.1 client on android and baresip on linux. I'm exploring use of h265 for improved video quality/lower network bandwidth. I do not see pass through support on asterisk for h265/hvec. All my SIP clients and underlying hardware have hvec/h265 encoding and decoding available. I would have liked vp9 however, vp9

Fixed and random factors in aov()
Hi, I'm confused about how to specify random and fixed factors in an aov() term. I tried to reproduce a textbook example: One fixed factor (Game, 4 levels) and one random factor (Store, 12 levels), response is Points. The random factor Store is nested in Game. I tried > str(kh.df) `data.frame': 48 obs. of 4 variables: $ Subj : Factor w/ 48 levels

Best version of Icecast? / Icecast as a service? / Videostreaming?
Hello, 1. Which version of Icecast is the best and newest. Officially it is 2.4.4 at icecast.org. But is there a mod version with more features? 2. Who can run Icecast as a Windows service? My 2.4.3 version does not support this. Older versions had this option during installation. 3. Can Icecast stream also video livestream? Where can I find more about it? Kind regards. -------------- next

NHW Project - news with Xiph.org
Hello, These last 2 months, I have talked again with Monty Montgomery about the NHW Project and he told me that Xiph.org would like to encourage the NHW Project development. That's just great! I'll see what Monty will do on his side (and when he has time), but he also told me that the NHW codec has merits but there must be an effort to demonstrate them. The advantages, merits of the NHW

adwantages of ogg container?

If the whole first portion of the file is missing, then regenerating the header is, in the abstract, a hard problem involving searching a very large solution space. In practice, many encoders

MIME Types and File Extensions
Hi All, On the Xiph Wiki page at: https://wiki.xiph.org/MIME_Types_and_File_Extensions I added Opus to several of the sections, but wasn't sure whether to add "Theora + Opus" to: .ogv - video/ogg .axv - video/annodex As far as I can tell, according to the Opus FAQ at: https://wiki.xiph.org/OpusFAQ#Will_Opus_replace_Vorbis_in_video_files.3F Theora + Opus is

[LLVMdev] multithreaded performance disaster with -fprofile-instr-generate (contention on profile counters)
Hi, The current design of -fprofile-instr-generate has the same fundamental flaw as the old gcc's gcov instrumentation: it has contention on counters. A trivial synthetic test case was described here: http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2013-October/066116.html For the problem to appear we need to have a hot function that is simultaneously executed by multiple threads -- then we will

Asterisk 13.26.0 webRTC: Asterisk not passing along video
Hello I am trying to set up webRTC video calls from my Chrome webbrowser (Fedora) to my Chrome webbrowser (Windows 10). There is local video input (I can see myself), but never video on the receiving side. This is the case in both directions (so it makes no difference which peer is calling which peer). Both webRTC SIP peers have opus and H264 codec in their peer definition :   Video

SAMBA PDC permissions quandry
Hello all: I have a Samba PDC (Samba 2.2.3) on RedHat 7.3 currently serving about 40 to 50 clients with the intent of adding another 60 to 70 in the coming weeks. Everything is working decently well. I do have one problem that I am concerned about though. I have had to make many users Admin users so that a certain application can run. This does not concern me so much except for where data

Upgrading from 2.2.3a to 2.2.7a concerns
All: Before I actually go and take the plunge on performing this upgrade I would like to find out if there are any caveats I should be aware of. I am using RedHat 7.3 and have been using the pre-installed Samba since I began upgrading our network to Samba about 4 months ago. I plan on using the 2.2.7a rpm from Samba.org and would like to know if any of you have done this and whether or not

Configure can't fine ogg
looks like ogg2.m4 and ogg.m4 both exist in the m4 dir, but the AC macro defined in both cases is XIPH_PATH_OGG, so my guess is that AC is picking up ogg2.m4 first and using that incorrectly.... is there a reason the macro name in ogg2.m4 is XIPH_PATH_OGG and not XIPH_PATH_OGG2 ? oddsock At 11:51 AM 5/26/2004, you wrote: >On Wed, 2004-05-26 at 17:05, Jack Moffitt wrote: > > > >

Configure can't fine ogg
Hi: Still wrestling with SVN icecast. I'm having trouble getting it to find ogg, and wondered if SVN icecast requires SVN ogg? Here's what configure says: checking for Ogg2... no *** Could not run Ogg test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the *** exact error that occured. This usually means Ogg was incorrectly

libogg2 issue in revision 10730
hi all I found that in the revision 10730 of the libogg2 library it is impossible to do bitpacking. this is due to the implementation of the (at least) two functions oggpack_writeinit() and oggpack_readinit(). they both take an (oggpack_buffer *) as an argument and immediately erase all it's contents: void oggpack_readinit(oggpack_buffer *b,ogg_reference *r){ memset(b,0,sizeof(*b));
