Hi Sahana
I must admit I'm not an expert in Theora.
But the error message "Could not set keyframe interval to 64" might indicate that an
attempt to set the keyframe frequency failed.
Have a look at the keyframe_granule_shift attribute in the th_info struct.
It says: The maximum distance between key frames is 1<<keyframe_granule_shift.
So I could imagine that the error might

Libtheora
Hi all,
I am Sahana. I am currently working on Libtheora for windows platform and
very new to it. I am getting a lot of compiling errors. Since Libtheora
depends on libogg and libvorbis i have added these as well to my workspace
in VC++ 6. I have a doubt regarding the x86 and x86_vc folders described in
the libtheora software.Since both these folders have the same set of files

[LLVMdev] multithreaded performance disaster with -fprofile-instr-generate (contention on profile counters)

No. Contention on the counters leads to 5x-10x slowdown. This is never
good enough.

Hot areas will still be hot and cold areas will not be affected.

Remote Git vs. GNOME on CentOS 6.6: cannot open display
Hi,
I just installed a fresh CentOS 6.6 desktop. It's a client's machine, it
is physically installed on a testbench in my office. Usually, when I
perform installations, I start with the base system on the testbench,
and once networking is configured, I SSH into it and then do all the
fine-tuning remotely.
My configuration files, scripts and HOWTOs are all stored in a Github

[LLVMdev] Possible bug in DFAPacketizer::ReadTable
Great! Can you please check in that test case or better still, a reduced
version of that test.
Thanks

[LLVMdev] Possible bug in DFAPacketizer::ReadTable
Hi Anshu,
the "test case" I referred to requires the compilation of our whole
back-end. It segdaults when using gcc-4.4.3 under Ubuntu 10.04, with other
combinations I have tested it still happens (before your patch) but is not
noticeable unless using gdb. I have tried making valgrind catch it but no
success... so I guess the only way to *see* it is using the debugger.
I remember

Theora file size
Hi
I was surprised with size of Theora files and thought
of feedback.
Following 1minute duration Theora and Xvid files were
made from a y4m file. The resolution is 1280x720:
1. Xvid 17MB
2. Ogg/Theora Q7 31MB
3. Ogg/Theora Q8 38MB
4. Ogg/Theora Q9 49MB
5. Ogg/Theora Q10 61MB
The Xvid file was made using mencoder by 2 passes with

[LLVMdev] Possible bug in DFAPacketizer::ReadTable
Hi again,
I can confirm r169783 fixes the problem. My testbench segfaulted in r169782
but works after your commit.
We can close the issue.
Thanks,
Carlos

Theora blurriness in Windows players
I just finished using my mother's PC which is running Windows XP. I
downloaded & installed, or already had installed, the latest versions of
VLC Media Player (1.0.5), Media Player Classic - Home Theater (last
release was in August 2009), Miro (already installed), Mozilla Firefox
(3.6), Google Chrome (latest from website today), Opera (10.50 Alpha,

trouble with data frame
Hi everyone,
I am trying to use the values from every cell of the data frame in a
further calculation.
This is the code that I am using to catch every element of the data-frame.
while (a<=10)
{
while (b<=10)
{
n<-as.numeric(df[a,b)];
...;
}
}
The problem is that when I print out 'n' I get the following errors :
"NULL" (if printed without as.numeric), and

Theora Decoding on FPGA
Hello people
My name is Felipe and I sent a proposal to the Google Summer of Code
that the goal is to get a FPGA embeded system decoding Theora Streams
in real-time.
It was accepted and the mentor is the Ralph Giles.
The proposal can be viewd here:

[LLVMdev] multithreaded performance disaster with -fprofile-instr-generate (contention on profile counters)
Hi,
The current design of -fprofile-instr-generate has the same fundamental
flaw
as the old gcc's gcov instrumentation: it has contention on counters.
A trivial synthetic test case was described here:
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2013-October/066116.html
For the problem to appear we need to have a hot function that is
simultaneously executed
by multiple threads -- then we will

On your document here:

you show the result of the improved rate managemet in the theora codec. Can you tell which are the encoders that produced the two video matrix-580.ogg

CentOS 9 Stream on Workstation with Ver. 1 x86_64 cpu
Hello All,
RHEL9 deprecated version 1 x86_64 cpus. My old testbench HP workstation
has such a version 1 cpu. I've tested install of Rocky Linux 9 and
CentOS9Stream but no go upon reboot after install -- kernel panic.
Is there a way to recompile the kernel to handle the legacy cpu after
install -- via some other live cd, perhaps?
Due to the fact I can't reboot after install, I'm not

[PATCH] Fix for YUV4MPEG support in encoder_example
As was briefly discussed on IRC, ffmpeg and mplayer currently output
two somewhat incompatible YUV4MPEG streams. This meant that
encoder_example could take input from mplayer, but not ffmpeg or
movtoy4m (a QuickTime->Y4M tool).
This is a patch that fixes this issue and should allow encoder_example to
take input from either format:

[LLVMdev] Possible bug in DFAPacketizer::ReadTable
Hi Anshu,
I got a testbench which fails (and segfaults) consistently with an
environment (gcc + os) conveniently preserved in a virtual machine. I will
confirm that it is gone there and report.
Thanks for the fix :)

HW-Speex: Fileformat and encoding process
Hi
I have just written a small c programm which reads in speex files and outputs
them as asci text numbers. This is necessary as for writing a hw testbench
for decoding tests, since thy only read ascii files :-(.I can't read the
bitrate properly from the header file. It's allways -1. Please see example
below and attached c programm. I wan't to check for a fixed bitrate (8000).

CentOS tools for public safety
A friend of mine from the CentOS community is extremely close to several
northern CA fires.

Once things die down (he was evacuated last week), he and I are planning
on investigating various CentOS / nix public safety tools for future
events like this.
Any suggestions in this area would be greatly appreciate. I just
