Markus McLaughlin Intro
My name is Markus McLaughlin, I am coming on board the CentOS EDUcation
SIG Project. I want to bring my resourcefulness and talents to this
very ambitious project. Debian has already made available its own EDU
distribution. It's time for CentOS to "step up," and offer its own
service. Windows and MACs have dominated
the education market far too long. It's time to bring

[PATCH] git tree: libfat, chain, mtools/syslinux, menu.txt
git://gnx.ath.cx/syslinux.git
On branch for_hpa, I've got several groups of changes (listed bottom up)

further and document/code what ones can possibly work
-mtools/syslinux.c: Check to be sure fs is not NULL in case

Wine and Lotus Notes
Hi guys,
may or may not be on to the right place for this,
Im running the codeweaver wine beta snapshot 4.
I have Lotus Notes running fine and can cut text from it and paste it to
terminals etc without problems. However pasting from terminals back to
Notes usually results in a paste of the last text copied from within
notes.
Its livable with but if anyone else uses different versions of wine

[LLVMdev] Correct use of StringRef and Twine

Ah, I'd thought that feature (specifying the backing type with "enum
name : integral_type") was standard, but I see it's a C++0x thing. My
mistake.

escape char clutter makes prompt unreadable
hey folks,
Im using pxelinux to boot a Soekris box (which works fine to a default
image)
Ive added a bunch of LABEL, KERNEL pairs,
but I cant read the display; Im buried in escape codes.
Ive captured some of it to a typescript file:
it starts out kosher, but goes unreadable rather quickly,

Too bad. I thought for a minute there that it goes up to eleven
because... "Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see,
most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all

Raspberry Pi Version of Samba?
Everybody,
In my case I used a RPi as an additional DC for a month or so while making
some Samba4 AD improvements to the main DC's.
My main DC's run on some nanopc Intel J1800 (cpu) based fanless (about 5" x
5" x 2") box's that by spec sheet draws a maximum of 15W to run on full
load. As a DC they never run on full load. These boxes are actually
designed to be run 24/7

Theora & Vorbis on your mobile phone
Hey guys + gals,
Would you know where to point me to for an open source or commercial implementation of Theora & Vorbis for your mobile phone?
Maybe as a Symbian app? Maybe a Java midlet?
I'd like to be able to download & play video files to the mobile as well as maybe stream them too? Am I asking too much? :-)
Thanks in advance for your help!
Callum.

How to burn MP4/MPEG4 to DVD playable on a DVD player?
How to burn MP4/MPEG4 to DVD playable on a DVD player?
So you have downloaded movies and taken videos in the MP4 (MPEG-4) video format. Want to play MP4 files on home DVD player in your living room sitting on the couch? Well, due to the limits of most DVD players' capabilities, the original MP4 files can't be played directly on regular home DVD players. Therefore, you need to convert and
