Theora & Vorbis on your mobile phone
Hey guys + gals,
Would you know where to point me to for an open source or commercial implementation of Theora & Vorbis for your mobile phone?
Maybe as a Symbian app? Maybe a Java midlet?
I'd like to be able to download & play video files to the mobile as well as maybe stream them too? Am I asking too much? :-)
Thanks in advance for your help!
Callum.

Linux Foundation removed all Theora videos from linux.com?
I've heard this second hand and haven't had the time to confirm its
vericity. Can someone confirm this is the case?
If so, what were these people thinking? Removing support for the only
video format that is sure to be installed in every Linux box somehow
promoves the OS adoption? You get a WTF award LF, congrats.

Google Video accepting Ogg Theora files
Hi all,
I just noticed that Google Video now accepts uploading of Ogg Theora
files, even though they don't mention it on the site.
Now if they could just sort out the download side of things...

Theora@GP2X possible?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello,
I just want to know whether it would be possible to play ogg-theora
videos on my favourite Handheld, the GP2X. For those of you who don't
know the GP2X yet there's much information about it on Wikpedia or on
http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/Hardware_Documentation . To make it short,
its an ARM-based Handheld which is able to play Xvid and DivX

Ogg Vorbis on iTunes / iMac
Been researching a way to play an internet radio station (http://www.hbr1.com
) that says I should use a method that supports Ogg Vorbis files.
I found your site but it doesn't have any instructions as to "what and
how to download and install" the "Xiph" decoder.
I'm not very savvy with computers so please make any response basic
and as non technical as possible.

Sporadic Issues
Hi I think a part of your story was not clear :
- You talk about an "upgrade" , it's an upgrade of icecast ? the OS icecast
is running on ? Your HTML5 web player ?

streaming theora in flash
Hi,
I managed to get my own FLV videos working over the web:
http://certik.github.com/record/
it plays in the opensource flash player (flowplayer), but I have to
convert theora to FLV (you can use the script in the package above).
My question is, does anyone know if it's possible to get theora itself
working? I know firefox3.5 will be able to do it, but I am afraid that
will be the only

FYI: tagesschau.de partly with Ogg Theora
The news site of Germany's main public television station ARD now has
some short clips in Ogg Theora: http://www.tagesschau.de/tagesschau24/
These are the "news in 100 seconds" clips, which are also available in
mp4/h264. Curiosuly longer video-news are available as either flash or
wmv?

Theora Petition on YouTube
Hi again,
Here is a petition against YouTube, this is requesting YouTube uses
open-standards to display media rather than H.264.

inside matroska
hi everyone !
since nobody answered the question in the extension-thread, i would
like to ask again in a new thread:
why does xiph and the theora-team not promote the matroska-format?
do you just prefer ogg because its "home-made" or are there technical
advantages over mkv?
thanks!

Theora for webcam/conferencing use
Hey Theorans,
Yesterday and today I decided to try out broadcasting a video stream
using Theora from my computer's built-in webcam. I was pleasantly
surprised to find that, while maintaining a rate of less than 150kbps,
the stream was of quite a suitable quality sending 640x480 video at 15
frames per second. For now, this is video only, by the way, I did not
include any audio in the stream

TS from DVB-T to Theora + Vorbis
Hello,
Could you kindly point me to some instruction, how to encode demuxed
files (.m2v and .mp2) to .ogg (Theora + Vorbis)? I was trying to use
ffmpeg2theora, but I don't know, how to put two files to ffmpeg2theora
(one audio an one video) and did not found, how to mux them into one
file?
Exist a way, how to do two pass encoding?
I'm using Ubuntu Fiesty Linux.
Thank you,

can't turn off password complexity requirements
Hello,
I'm unsing Ubuntu 14.4 Server and samba 4.1.6-Ubuntu. Everything
works great but I somehow fail to switch off the password complexity
requirements. It is not unlikely that this is because I'm very
unexperienced with Windows. I've heard that the password-settings are
always a bit tricky and I did exactly what the windows-tutorials say.
I've tried gpresult for
