Only if it talks SIP (which some do, generally door entry cameras with a push
button input and often a lock release output).

The Grandstream camera product line has SIP output so you can "call" the camera

ffmpeg2theora: issue converting from a png image list
Hi Jan, all
I am trying to generate a video introduction with a fade-in / fade-out
effect. To do this with ffmpeg2theora only, I generated a list of PNG
images: img001.png, img002.png... img299.png
The ffmpeg2theora man page says:
Encode a series of images:
ffmpeg2theora frame%06d.png -o output.ogv
That's exactly what I tried with the latest 0.24 release of ffmpeg2theora:

Muxing a52/ac3 and Theora
Is there a program currently available that will correctly mux a52/ac3
streams and theora streams into an ogg container? I've tried
oggzmerge, and it will mux ac3 into ogm and correctly create a new ogm
from an existing theora file, but it doesn't seem to put the two
together correctly.

AVI stream w/ AC3 5.1ch
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I have an AVI file (~900MB) that I want to convert to OGM format, with a
~ DivX 5 video and uncompressed AC3 (5.1ch) audio stream. Nandub doesn't
want to compress the audio, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend
a (Windows) tool to help. Thanks for your time!

call an IP camera?
Hi,
is it possible to "call" an IP camera? I'm thinking about something like
bridging with a music stream, but instead of streaming audio, bridge with
the video stream from the camera.
It would be very cool if I could just call the camera and see what's going
on. Ffmpeg shows the following streams available from the camera:

Accelerated video output with ffmpeg2theora 0.24
When I converted two files with ffmpeg2theora their duration changed shorter - they seem to play back with accelerated speed. When I play one of them with VLC, the video stops at 99 seconds but audio continues until 170 seconds. The other file is 120 seconds long but it is played back in 80 seconds.
Here is ffmpeg2theora output:
$ ffmpeg2theora --optimize --inputfps 25 -F 25 2002-05-23\ Juho\

bad performance on 2.4.23
hi,
- big and ugly mail. If you don't like them, delete it now :-) -
I have collected and classified some information of:
http://home.earthlink.net/~rwhron/kernel/bigbox.html
And I observed that ext3 performance is worse than previous
kernels(2.4.19...). -ac and -aa are here only as reference.
Complete information is in the upper URL.

Ogv file only plays in VLC / Can't be used by most tools.
Hi,
I'm new here - thanks for having me. (Sorry if I'm in the wrong place or a noob.)
I downloaded the Theora encoder sample (ver 1.1.1), modified it to encode a sequence of bitmaps, and created an OGV file.
The OGV file plays fine in the latest VLC (1.0.5), but I can't do much else with it:
I tried uploading to YouTube, and the video just comes out really corrupt:

I'm having trouble with hardware decoding of video with mpv(1) having
