Identification Header
Hi,
While creating identification header in the function *
theora_encode_heade*r in *encoder_toplevel.c*, it assigns bits not mentioned
in the current theora spec released on Octomber 29, 2007 (page 40 &41).
But this implementation in function* theora_encode_heade*r is correct
according to the *Figure 6.2 (page 42)*. But not according to the *table
mentioned in pages 40 &

More information on GSoC project
hello everybody,
I would like to participate in GSoC 2008 program under xiph.org. I went
through the open project list[1] and found the project " Theora encoding
support in GIMP" proposal interesting. I'd really grateful to you if you can
give me more information on this, including
1. Why GIMP need encoding support?
2.If you have any guidance in integrating encoding support for GIMP

Dropping etheora decoding support for overlapping with oggplay?
Hey,
Commenting a SoC application about improvement of Etheora, Conrad
Parker said the development should focus first on the encoding
features since liboggplay is overlapping with Etheora. I'm
transcripting the here so the Etheora's priorities can be better
discussed by everyone (and searchable on the web).

How to do Theora playback efficiently ?
Dear theora developer community,
currently I'm working on a simple Theora player for Windows. But the code in
the player_example.c seems not to have the performance of other
implementations like the Direct Show filters by illuminate. In the example
player, all important things are done in one thread: decoding the next
vorbis or theora packet(s) and reading from the physical stream (+ split

How to seek theora streams
I need to be exposed to a way of seeking theora streams. I have repeatedly found the same question asked on a different forums but could not find an answer. I'm working on a game and started integrating video with theora, the sound works just fine with ogg/vorbis(i find it easy to seek using ov_raw_seek for audio files). Could someone please point me to some example/code of how can i seek with

AW: How to do Theora playback efficiently ?
Hi Ralph,
thanks for your posting.
Yes, the standard example player in the theora distribution could also do it
when theora would not need so much time. I removed the frame dropping from
the example because it's based on some audio stuff under Linux that isn't
available on Windows. Currently I've no frame dropping handling build in
because the first goal is a good raw performance of

Theora video seek and loop implementation
Hi,
I want to use theora as video playback solution in game engine, so far i
have successfully implemented basic video playback (load a file and
play it in game engine). I have based my implementation on example
player but i have used new theora functions (the th_ ones).
It works ok, but i have a problem with implementation of video seek and
loop, i also don't have proper time sync.

Theora on iPhone
I posted a while back "complaining" about lack of a theora player on the
iPhone. Porting the code for libtheora (and libogg/libvorbis) was
(relatively) painless, and appears to be working. I'm up against a tougher
challenge now... rendering the video!
I tried using the brand-new SOC-funded SDL port to iphone to get the
"player_example.c" code up and running, but ran into

Theora over RTP/UPD
Hi,
I'm trying to get Theora working with a video conferencing application we are developing.
This application sends the audio content via RTP over UPD, and as one would
expect, there is a draft for how a Theora stream is supposed to be wrapped into an RTP
stream.
http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/theora/doc/draft-ietf-avt-rtp-theora-00.txt
The problem is that it is not obvious to me how the raw

liboggplay, liboggz, libfishsound migrated to git.xiph.org
Hi,
A week or two ago Viktor Gal migrated the liboggplay source repo to
git.xiph.org, and this week I moved the liboggz and libfishsound
repositories.
You can see the git repositories available via gitweb at http://git.xiph.org/
I wrote some brief news about the move, and instructions for getting the code:

Liboggplay seeking artifacts
Is anyone working on liboggplay, and if so, is there any plan to support
keyframe-based seeking? I found this, but seems to me that the feature ought
to be part of liboggplay:
http://pearce.org.nz/2009/05/video-seeking-improvements.html
Is there a more appropriate list to post to regarding liboggplay?
