Publishing a webcam on a web page?
This talk of cameras has reminded me of a problem I've not yet been able to solve. I have a Logitech Communicate STX ( ID 046d:08ad Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Communicate STX ) This seems to work under v4l on CentOS 5.4. If I load xawtv (from rpmforge) then I can view the image from the camera. But what I'd like to be able to do is have the image appear on a web page (maybe streaming

Accelerated video output with ffmpeg2theora 0.24
When I converted two files with ffmpeg2theora their duration changed shorter - they seem to play back with accelerated speed. When I play one of them with VLC, the video stops at 99 seconds but audio continues until 170 seconds. The other file is 120 seconds long but it is played back in 80 seconds. Here is ffmpeg2theora output: $ ffmpeg2theora --optimize --inputfps 25 -F 25 2002-05-23\ Juho\

yum, dag and xawtv
Hi, I'm a newbie with CentOS. Actually, with this generation Linux. I used it back in the middle 90's (Debian and Slackware) but migrated over to FreeBSD. I got tired of the dependency nightmares and wanted a system that "just worked". The FreeBSD ports system did just that for me. I HATE doing the rpm soup thing. RPM finders are nice but I'd rather just use something

pwc kernel module...
Hi, I'm just curious about whether some people here were able to make their webcam work under CentOS 4 using the pwc module (with the stock kernel) ? Mine is a PCVC730K (ToUcam Fun) that I would like to connect to my private webserver but, as soon as I connect it, the system freeze (at least not the whole system but the current console, that's weird). Is there something particular to do

Webm streaming.
Hello, I?m new to icecast, after installing and configuring audio, I want to stream some webm videos in web browsers, so I have a few questions (I can?t find the answers in the docs) : - Which source client should I use ? - I want to stream an already encoded video, does it require a source client ? - How can I embed that in a browser ? Thanks by advance for your help. Olivier BATARD

ffmpeg2theora start and end time support - patch
After posting my previous mail, I realized that i should instead post a patch against HEAD. This is because v0.12 was released while I was also changing ffmpeg2theora.c from v0.11. So please use this patch instead and apply it to version at http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/ffmpeg2theora Nilesh Bansal http://www.cse.iitb.ac.in/nilesh/ -------------- next part -------------- Index: ffmpeg2theora.c

Webm streaming.
Hi, After a few experiments I found how it works. - the easiest way is to declare a path statement in the config. - you can now copy webm files (webm streams are now supported) in the previous path - now, each files are considered as mount. BEWARE : you can't use chrome or safari or opera to open the url directly, the file will be downloaded instead of read. Works with Firefox by the way.

Skype on CentOS
I have Skype 2.1.0 running on CentOS 5, but it does not support video. At various times I have tried to install or run more recent versions on CentOS 5 and CentOS 6, but generally they fail for some reason, e.g. library requirements. We would like to run Skype in some conference rooms, for business reasons e.g. job interviews where some participants don't have access to more

ffmpeg2theora 0.24 regression: accelerated video output (converted from h264)
Here's another problem I have with the 0.24 version of ffmpeg2theora. When I try to convert a h264 file to theora... (Note that for size and runtime reasons, foo.mts is a truncated file, I just took the first 32MB of the original file) ffmpeg2theora-0.24.linux32.bin foo.mts -x 1280 -y 720 -o foo-ffmpeg2theora-0.24.ogv Input #0, mpegts, from 'foo.mts': Duration: 00:00:15.83, start:

metadata switches for ffmpeg2theora
Jan, Here's a hacky patch to add a few commandline options for setting comment header fields in ffmpeg2theora. It's a bit big because I virtualized the global info struct in theorautils.c. In retrospect that probably wasn't necessary, but I think it's cleaner anyway. I didn't test it because I couldn't compile ffmpeg2theora, but modulo bugs it should support
