Testing libtheora-1.0alpha5
Hi,
I sent the message below a couple of months ago but I got
no reply. Now that there's more activity perhaps someone
could kindly provide me some guidance. Theora is great
and the developers are doing a wonderful job, so I'd like to
implement the codec in a way which does it justice...
Original post:
I wrote a plugin to enable LiVES (a video editor) to encode
theora/vorbis/ogg files.

This is roughly what was suggested the last time around.
A possible refinement is to provide a mapping from identifiers
to IDs so you could say "?oggid=myvideo".

ogg movie out of png pics
Hi,
I would like to create a movie out of a lot of png files. Using
mencode I would do have something similar to
mencoder "mf://*.png" -mf type=png:fps=5 -vf spp,scale -ovc lavc -o output.avi
but I want to have an ogg format. I.e. an ogg movie
How to do it?
convert can convert the pngs to an mpg but not to an ogg!
convert: unable to open module file

ffmpeg2theora 0.22 is out - http://v2v.cc/~j/ffmpeg2theora
* enable v4l input again (-f video4linux or -f video4linux2)
* ability to set framerate for image sequences (--inputfps)
* fix several memory leaks
* if only width or height are given,
the other is set to preserve aspect ratio
* -start / -end options now work with audio only input
* new option --novideo to disable video

Video and audio not in sync
I had some shows on tivo that I figured I wanted to keep on a CD in case
I might ever want to watch them again. (Not that you care, butthis
really is for my own personal use. I wouldn't have the bandwidth to
"share" this stuff even if I wanted to.)
So I downloaded a 1 hour show with TiVo ToGo, and I jumped through a few
hoops to "free the mpeg", and I got a nice 2 GB

theora streaming problem...
hi everyone!
i'm playing around with theora streaming for the linux audio conference
2005 (http://lac.zkm.de).
i checked out svn.xiph.org/trunk, built all ogg, vorbis, speex and
theora related libs from scratch, then pulled icecast-2.2.0.
three issues:

icecast runs fine as always, but when i do
cat myvideo.ogg | oggfwd myhost 8000 mypasswd /test.ogg, the stream dies

Add an intro to a theora file without re-encoding?
Hello,
I would like to add a introduction video (typically a title with fade-in
/ fade-out) at the beginning of an Ogg/Theora video. I generated this
intro video in Ogg/Theora from a sequence of png files.
I would need to do this in an automatic script, because I have many such
videos to process, and without doing any re-encoding step (which would
be very costly because my videos are huge).

oggz-merge.exe
Hi folks,I'm joining this list because I've encountered difficulties with
the ogg tools.
I'm running Windows, and can't find binaries for liboggz tools, such as
oggz-merge.exe
Can someone provide oggz-merge.exe?
So I use ffmpeg (v19289) for muxing
ffmpeg -y -i sync2.ogg -i sync.ogv -vcodec copy -acodec copy sync2.ogv
but the framerate fluctuates wildly on playback, and ogginfo

I think we are likely to settle for CMML for everything text in Ogg.
Of course,

Muxing a52/ac3 and Theora
Is there a program currently available that will correctly mux a52/ac3
streams and theora streams into an ogg container? I've tried
oggzmerge, and it will mux ac3 into ogm and correctly create a new ogm
from an existing theora file, but it doesn't seem to put the two
together correctly.

OGG theora with mono output
Hi,
I would like to create an output file with mono audio.
How to do it ?
If use a video with mono as input, the result will be a video with stereo.
Is there a way to use the --downmix from oggenc ?

v4l audio
Hello all -
I'm out of my element with multimedia, can anyone point me in the right
direction?
I've a pchdtv-3000 card I am trying to record from. I can successfully
record audio/video using streamer or watch television with audio using
tvtime, so I know the audio is there.
I want to record directly to theora. I am trying to do so using
ffmpeg2theora like so:
ffmpeg2theora --v4l

mixed interlaced content and ffmpeg2theora
dv file from minidv camera - interlaced.
small dv created by imported jpeg images - not interlaced.
seems that when I use ffmpeg2theora with deinterlace switch and reduce
size, it works. But when the only reduction I am doing is to width
(720x480 -> 640x480) the encoder ignores the naturally interlaced bit
and uses the last de-interlaced frame.
Since the small bit made from jpegs is a dv

How to embede text into the Ogg stream
Hi Folks,
What is the proper way to embed text stream into the Ogg stream? I need to have text information (lyrics as example) recorded together with the audio. Is there a standard mechanism for that? What is the right way to do it?
With best regards,
