MP3 MetaData in WMP and RealOne
Did you really see meta-data? Or did it show data from the playlist- file? Or did you see the data (name and genre) provided in the http- header upon connect? E.g.: http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast- playlist.pls?rn=4219&file=filename.pls Shows "CLUB 977 The 80s Channel (HIGH BANDWIDTH)" in WinAmp. But this is due to the "title" set in the .pls and/or provided in

Hi Everybody, It works with Peercast because Peercast receives the headers from Icecast2 and sends its own headers back to the client (Winamp, WMP, Real...). Remember that Peercast is a client AND a server... I guess Peercast doesn't send back the headers in the same way than Icecast2. Maybe Peercast doesn't use ICY/X-audiocast. Talking about Real (v9.0 and 10), I already got the

PeerCast development...
I know this isn't exactly concerning Icecast, but PeerCast shares some similarities nonetheless... Is there anyone who would be willing/capable to code a streamlined Ogg Vorbis decoder for inclusion with the PeerCast client? The only thing preventing Ogg Vorbis from wide use is the many software players that still don't support it (Real, WiMP, MMJB). Since people have to download

Hi Stephan, I am talking about the meta-data: Artist - Song. It's weird because you are the second person on the list who doesn't get it working in Real... I just tried again with "BEK_dns" and "Radio Alcanzando Naciones" the 2 first MP3 radios I found in the stream directory and everything worked perfectly for Real (but not for WMP). In RealPlayer, I clicked

Maybe it works with WinAmp because peercast is received via a plugin that supports this? http://www.peercast.org/download.php WinAmp 2.x/5.x: - Self-extracting installer - Installs WinAmp plugin client - Enables peercast:// links - Free. No adware/spyware Allan, I assume you have a plugin installed for listening to peercast? Stefan On 7 Apr 2004 at 21:21, oddsock wrote: > At 08:30 PM

Barter Accounting Software
We are looking to create a robust accounting software for the barter industry. The software would need to track balances and have a phone and online authorization system to check against current balances and approve or decline the transaction. The platform would also need to separate regional offices and sales commission splits. We would need a shopping mall for member listings of goods and

oddcast DSP is what you want, it supports live input (called Advanced Recording) and does support streaming to Peercast...It currently does not support Vorbis metadata for live recording (since metadata for vorbis streaming is inserted into the ogg stream, as opposed to how it's done for mp3 in which the metadata is updated on the server via URL calls)... anyway, it's the closest thing to

playlist problem
Hi, I've had a few problems with broadcasting an icecast2 playlist with peercast. The problem is that when getting the m3u file, the response isn't terminiated with a newline (\n or \r\n). peercast doesn't particularily like this. I've submitted a patch to peercast for this, but I wonder if icecast2 should add the \r\n to the end. Maybe there's some more buggy software around

the "Adv. Rec"-option in the oddcast-plugin for winamp doesn't work on my machine (winxp with winamp 2.81 and the latest oddcast version). it seams to be buggy. i can enable it (green led lights), but nothing happens. and when i disable it winamp crashes down. there is also no configuration to select a soundcard input channel (i am using rme hdsp with 8 analog, 9 digital

Problems connecting source
I wouldn't be too quick to boast that nearly all of Peercast-network users utilize Oddcast... the last release of Peercast was about 6 months ago, and the software is still quite buggy & non-optimized. =P However, I do agree that Oddcast is a good, reliable stream source. >From: oddsock <oddsock@oddsock.org> >Reply-To: icecast@xiph.org >To: icecast@xiph.org >Subject:

low bandwidth broadcasting using ices2
Is there any way to bring the bitrate in ices2 down below 32 kbps? I'm setting up a demo for someone of how to use linux to do net radio broadcasting. The setup I'm thinking of is to use ardour plus jack to mix two (maybe more) input sources (live audio and recorded tracks/programmes), then send the mixed audio to ices2 for streaming to icecast2, using the jackified version of ices2. This

Set up a stream directory
Hello, I'd like to setup something similar to dir.xiph.org on a lan. The goal is simply to show users what radios are currently available. The documentation explains how to configure the peercast server for being referenced on yellow pages, but there is nothing about the yellow pages server. So, is the source for dir.xiph.org available for this? Thanks for your help!
