Samba server visibility
I must be missing something somewhere. I can't get our Samba server
to show up when I look in Network Neighborhood under XP. If I type in
\\servername\path, it won't find it, however if I use the IP, it works fine.
Now, experience tells me that I'm having to type the IP because it's
not resolving the name. Well fine, I can fix that, however I don't
recall doing that

Trying to fire up Puppet 0.24.7 on an Ubuntu 6.06 x64 machine (yes, I
know it''s obsolete, but we have a pile of machines), I get this failure:

[LLVMdev] Address Spaces for local memories
Hello,
I'm developing a C compiler for a machine with different local memories,
for which I need to be able to specify in which specific memory a global
variable should be allocated, and I also need to generate different
instructions for accessing different local memories.
I've seen in the LLVM 2.2 release notes that there is now support for
multiple address spaces, that seem to

Questions about static
Using an Asterisk system running 1.2 with Aastra phones.
Would be a cause of static for inbound/outbound and ext to ext calls?
Its voip both in and out.
We swapped, phones, cordes, switches etc?..
Typically a reboot of the phone resolves the problem?person also swears
there is nothing on or near their desk to cause interference (microwave,
cell phone is purse).
Strange??
Thanks

Fitting heteroscedastic linear models/ problems with varIdent of nlme
Hi,
I would like to fit a model for a factorial design that allows for
unequal variances in all groups. If I am not mistaken, this can be done
in lm by specifying weights.
A function intended to specify weights for unequal variance structures
is provided in the nlme library with the varIdent function. Is it
apropriate to use these weights with lm? If not, is there another
possibility to do

Driver for Ever Net 3000 DPC vs Ever Net 2200 DPC
Hello.
I am trying setup NUT with Ever Net 3000 DPC. All my efforts end with "data stale" error.
I've already set up Ever Net 2200 DPC on Debian Etch.
According to driver documentation, driver I should use for both models is everups.
I've downloaded software provided by producer:
http://www.ever.com.pl/pl/pliki/powersoftplus-0.1.8-x86.tar.gz
In this software drivers for 2200

varimax rotation difference between R and SPSS
Hi,
I am puzzeled with a differing result of princomp in R and FACTOR in
SPSS. Regarding the amount of explained Variance, the two results are
the same. However, the loadings differ substantially, in the unrotated
as well as in the rotated form.
In both cases correlation matrices are analyzed. The sums of the squared
components is one in both programs.
Maybe there is an obvious reason, but I

Multiple associations between tables - do they ever work?
This is really bugging me. How can I get a second association to work
between 2 tables.
I have two models, User and Article. A user has many articles, and an
article belongs to one user. Then I have the "current article", which
is a the article that the user is currently viewing/editing. I want to
track/save this value, so they can come back to the same article if they
log out

Cisco 7940 phone and tftpd provisioning - for ever?
Hi all,
Sorry for posting here - but I figured there are many people with Cisco
IP phones here - and I use them with Asterisk :-)
I have a couple of Cisco 7940 phones. I've loaded the SIP firmware OK,
loaded the SIP configuration files OK, they work with Asterisk just fine.
My question is - will I have to keep on running the tftp server for them
for ever and ever? Isn't there any

Will they ever fix the DirectSound buffer underrun error?
I'm one of many many people who submitted a duplicate bug report when
this happened to me, without realising quite how old this problem is.
New Wine versions are coming thick and fast, but every few days someone
posts another report that the same problem exists in the latest version
with such-and-such a DirectX app.
Does anyone know if this is ever likely to be fixed?

tag, content_tag: are nil-valued options ever useful?
In a number of places in my code I pass options whose value are '''' or
nil to one of the tag-generation helper methods. In the HTML this shows
up as, e.g.
<span class="">
Now, this can be pretty wasteful, but I don''t want to change my evil
ways. Thus I''d rather have the framework throw out these options than
do it myself. AFAICT, all tag
