webmaster help needed - call for volunteers
Dear Community,
Xiph.org has a serious need for some webmasterly help, and currently
no one actively involved has the time to fill such a role. We are
hereby asking if there are any volunteers in the community who would
like to help out in this capacity, possibly as part of a webmaster
team (depending on response). This job pays in karma only,
unfortunately.
This is a good opportunity to help

Release - NUT-Html v 1.1
All,
I've decided to publish something I threw together.
I recently installed NUT and found it to be a hassle to switch between
the CGIs for web access. I created some HTML to provide an easy way
to go between the CGIs easily and quickly. It uses the exact same
color scheme that the default CGIs use.
I would very much appreciate any input. I am open to having this
included with the main

NUT upsstats.cgi problem
I seem to have NUT all working with my R3000XR, except for the CGIs.
The webserver's all properly configured and upsstats.cgi *runs*, but
doesn't yield any useful output - no values are displayed, every value
is replaced by [error: Invalid argument]. Apache is not logging any
resulting errors, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of useful
documentation on the CGIs to troubleshoot

Proposal: MAC_BIBA and real-world usage
Hello,
Are there many people actually using the MAC subsystem in the real
world? I have been working to set up a shared hosting webserver and
I've stumbled against some limitations with the BIBA policy.
In short, it's an excellent model, and can be used succesfully if
applications are aware of its existance, but I find it incompatible
with the real-world needs in Unix, and,

webmaster in mqueue
Anybody finding a huge mailfile named webmaster in their mqueue? I'm
wondering what/how this gets there? Just found one on one server that
was over 2 gigs! Yuck!!!
So far, this has been on CentOS 3 machines using sendmail.

A bit OT...but here is a nifty Rails sighting.... ;)
According to arstechnica,
<http://arstechnica.com/reviews/games/forever.ars>Duke Nukem Forever
has been ported to Ruby on Rails and is now rendered with
some kind of magic mishmash of svg-canvas and ajax! This truely is an
example of the incredible power of a web browser. Any hope for getting Mr.
Fowler to add a Recipe for this type of thing in his new book? ;)

chroot() as non-root user?
I suspect this has been asked before but I'll ask anyway.
Q1: Is it possible for a non-root process to perform a chroot?
My interest is this: I have a typical ISP hosting account (verio; on a
FreeBSD 4.4 server.) I'd like to install and run various CGI packages, yet
protect myself (and my email, and my .ssh keys) from bugs being exploited
in those CGI packages. Chroot at the start

more reassociation in IR
1. The reassociate pass that exists right now was *originally* (AFAIK)
written to enable CSE/GVN to do better. That particular issue is solvable
in other ways, because there are good ways to integrate reassociation into
CSE/GVN (and at this point, it would probably be cheaper than -reassociate
since it would modify code less, only changing it when there are actual
redundancies )
I don't know

Systemd, PHP-FPM, and /cgi-bin scripts
CentOS 7 server and Fedora 29 dev workstation, both with PHP 7.2, Apache 2.4,
php-fpm, all updated.
I have a web-based app I've been developing for some time, and recently the
need to upload files of large size EG 1 GB or larger, has come up.
So I wrote a /cgi-bin script that works, takes the input, and even runs the
same application framework as the main application which normally

Agreed. The original mindset included a (naive) belief that going with a canonical form was better than teaching redundancy elimination to handle abstractions (as a matter

[nbdkit PATCH] ocaml: Support .preconnect callback
Somewhat of a mishmash between .open (in that it takes a bool readonly
parameter) and .config_complete (in that the C code returns an int,
but the Ocaml code either throws an exception or completes with unit).
I did not spot any existing testsuite coverage to modify for this, and
am relying on the fact that it compiles cleanly.

Generated test files and bad require 'test_helper'
Why do the generated test files have: require ''test_helper''
It cannot obviously find the file because it''s located in a
subdirectory. That''s annoying.

more reassociation in IR
When you say that distribution shouldn't be used, do you mean within
instcombine rather than some other pass? Or not all as an IR optimization?
A dedicated optimization pass that looks for and makes
factoring/distribution folds to eliminate instructions seems like it would
solve the problems that I'm seeing.
Ie, I'm leaning towards the proposal here: https://reviews.llvm.org/D41574

To the webmaster
Hi,
I'd like to d/l the redhat rpms. But when I click on "RedHat/" at
http://master.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/, I get "Forbidden You don't
have permission to access /samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/RedHat/ on this server."
Can you fix if possible and notify me please?

Contact information for samba.org webmaster?
I tried hard and failed to find any information about who is responsible for maintenance of samba.org. There are things on the site that don't work and I'd like to report them.
Sorry for kinda offtopic but there's no any clue on the site regarding where else can this question belong.
Please cc your reply to me because I'm not on the list.
Thanks!
