libtheora 1.0 alpha 6 release
All, I'm pleased to announce a new release of the libtheora reference implemenation. This is an incremental update over alpha 5, consisting primarily of bug fixes and a merge of the encoder optimizations from the theora-mmx branch. Source is available from the usual location: http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/theora/ Changes since the 1.0 alpha 5 release: * Merge theora-mmx simd

libtheora 1.0 alpha 4 release
Ralph Giles posted this announcement at www.theora.org last week. I tried to reword it for this list, but couldn't think of a way to improve it. In case you haven't already seen this: ******************************************************* We're pleased to announce a new release of the libtheora reference implementation. This is an incremental update over alpha 3, in support of

theora release todos
Hi, last week's thread about getting closer to a release fizzled out. The mailing list discussion and the TheoraTodo wiki item suggest the following are required for release: 1. freeze the theora logical bitstream format 2. complete the reference implementation tools 3. stablize the libtheora API 4. complete the documentation I'd like to suggest this as

building libtheora 1.0 on win64
I have an old conferencing app that uses theora and I'm building it for win64. libthora 1.1 builds just fine, but libtheora 1.0 has errors related to assembly code when building for x64. I've tried using 1.1, but the video does not look right -- the clients all generate their own first 3 packets instead of sending them over the network since they assume they are all on the same version

VP3 Compatibility and SIMD Optimizations
Hi, A few questions: Is libtheora strictly backward compatible with VP3? Can I set it up to shove raw VP3 data through and trust it to decode the same way as On2's open source code did, loop filters and all? Also, is libtheora just supposed to be a C-based reference implementation? I was looking through the code and noticed a distinct lack of any kind of optimizations. Naive tree-based

Problem installing Theora. help please
Hello. I am running cpanel on redhad linux 9 with the latest patches. I want to install icecast and icecast requires Theora to be installed. So after running the autoconf of Theora, I ran make and then make install. The output of make install is below. Now, when I want to install icecase from the rpm, I get this error: rpm -i icecast-2.2.0-1.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: curl

libtheora alpha 2 release
At long last, we've reached the alpha 2 milestone. CVS is tagged 'theora1_0_alpha_2' and a tarball is available from the website: http://www.theora.org/files/libtheora-1.0alpha2.tar.gz This includes (hopefully) all the format changes we wanted to get in, so the bitstream format has changed since the alpha 1 release. Any content you have will need to be re-encoded. Also we

Next step of Hardware Theora
Hello, First of all, I would like to say that my work that I wrote in the other email would be to do in hardware the functions: CopyRecon, LoopFilter and UpdateUMVBorder. These are modules that Leonardo had made, but it wasn't ok in FPGA. When I had a chat with Leonardo we were thinking in rewrite these module for to do this running in FPGA (to debug in a Hardware level is much more

VP3 for xine 1.0-beta4
Hi, Some of you may recall that I got the VP3 decoder working with the xine multimedia player some time ago and posted a patch for anyone else to try. I really messed up when I did that since I generated the patch against some random CVS snapshot of xine-lib. I did better this time and generated the patch against the latest release of xine-lib (1.0-beta4, released today). If you

VP3 Patch For xine
Hi, Since a number of people are eager to try out the native VP3 decoder in xine, I have made a patch available, bz2-compressed: http://www.pcisys.net/~melanson/codecs/xine-vp3-decoder-patch.bz2 To work with this patch: 1) Get the latest xine-lib from CVS. Visit this page for more details: http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=9655 The module name is xine-lib, but you will also need

Question about movies encoded with libtheora
I have a question about a movie I 've encoded with libtheora. It's a video 2000x2000 with Theora codec and no audio. The video is fine with some players, but it isn't read in youtube. http://www.ibiiztera.be/others/test3.ogv -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Bad memory access in libtheora beta3
Hi, I didn't get to the bottom of it, but Valgrind is whining on libtheora when encoding a video to a 16 width or 16 height video. While you may think I'm weird for encoding to such a size, I didn't care about the output video, but I reckon it should work. The bad accesses seemed to be of pixel data, in FilterVert__c, and in FilterHorz__c (from memory), but I didn't investigate

libtheora-1.0alpha5 release
Everyone, I've made a new release of our libtheora reference implementation. This draws a line under all the development since alpha 4 before we start merging in the optimization work people have been doing. It also contains a fix for two serious bugs (one an encoding error, one a segfault) so we recommend everyone upgrade. The release is source and binary compatible with 1.0 alpha 4.

libtheora-1.0alpha7 release
All, I've done a new alpha release of the libtheora reference implementation. This is mostly build fixes from the alpha6 release; I'd failed to enable the new MMX asm by default, and the x86 asm code did a relocation that caused problems on SELinux. You can get it in the usual place: http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/theora/libtheora-1.0alpha7.tar.bz2
