Latest x86_64 != latest i386 packages?
I have CentOS 4.3 on two machines, one i386 (3.0GHz P4) and one x86_64
(2.6GHz Opteron).
Both have
centos-release-4-3.2
autoconf-2.59-5
However, on the i386:
perl-5.8.5-34.RHEL4
Whereas on the x86_64:
perl-5.8.5-24.RHEL4
Is this really correct?
I ask because when I attempt to recompile zsh on the x86_64 box, I
unaccountably get this error:
Can't locate object method "path" via

Compile Theora on windows
Hi all,
I tried to compile theora on my windows, i installed Msys with mingw32.
First I compiled ogg it seem have no problems for that, then I tried to compile theora and first run the ./configure with the good path for the ogg library. But I saw that the ./configure stopped because my version of ogg must be newer than 1.1 but I have the 1.1.3 !

smbldap-populate issues?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi guys,
I appear to have some issues with smbldap-populate, this used to work
fine but I've recently upgraded the dev box from RH8.0 to Fedora Core 1,
I assume it's related but I'm not sure exactly how...
As you can see the first ou creates work, so it must at least be binding
to the ldap server, but it seems to have a problem with the

Theora, MMX and optimisation
Hi everyone,
I just landed into the theora planet, as a game programmer, I searched
for a free video fomat/codec and the theora choice became obvious.
However I experienced rather bad performance (at least from a game
programming point of view)
After a couple a profiling, I discovered, as previous discused in a
post found via Google, that the bottleneck is in the ogg library. An
unsane part of the

Compiling samba 4.1.2 with new KRB5 1.12 library
I'm trying to compile 4.1.2 with the new KRB5 1.12 library and it needs to reference libkrb5support. I can't find in which wscript file to affect the building of the krb5 libraries. I was editing bin/c4che/default.cache.py, but I know that's not the correct way, and that file does get recreated. Any help would be appreciated.

Mike

I really have no idea of what's needed for cross-compiling. If you find
out what needs to be added, please send me a patch.

Problems running autoconf on Solaris 10 Update 4
Sorry for the double post, I've been doing some more looking into this,
and it seems like this is a separate problem of more general interest
than my original AD issue.
My understanding is that the repository does not maintain a configure
script in the source directory. Packaged releases of the samba code
include one, but if you're trying to build from the repo, you need to do

Loop error when compiling CVS version of 1.2-Beta
I am still getting an error compiling the 1.2-Beta version. The
tarball works fine, but I have never been able to compile the 1.2beta
from CVS. I have been compiling CVS-HEAD on the machine for quite
some time.
It goes into this loop:
if cmp -s include/asterisk/version.h.tmp include/asterisk/version.h ;
then echo; else \
mv include/asterisk/version.h.tmp include/asterisk/version.h ; \
