Performance optimization of glusterfs with samba-glusterfs-vfs plugin
Hi guys, I have spent many days on debuging read/write performance of glusterfs with samba-gluster-vfs plugin recently. The write performance is okay, but the read speed is always dispirited. The testing environment is like this: OS: centos 6.4 hosts: two hosts, one for samba server which glusterfs with samba-glusterfs-vfs runs on it, the other for samba client glusterfs version:

help, glusterfs test caused very high tcp segment retransmission rate
Hi, I found the aggregated IO speed is only about 100MB/s on 4 Giga-bit Brick. This test is done over 12 computing nodes with command dd if=/dev/zero of=bar bs=1048576 count=20480. Because our brick has very fast local IO speed, the problem could be network. Then I found computing nodes got too many retransmited segments during test according to netstat -st. The retransmission ratio is

MS Office/Samba/Glusterfs/Centos
Hi, I have set up glusterfs 3.4.2 over an 10Gig xfs filesystem on two CentOS 6 servers. The gluster filesystem is shared through Samba on both servers. Replication is working like a charm but file locking is not. Is it possible to have file locking working in this configuration in an way that Microsoft Office 2010 behaves like as if the files were on the same server? Does somebody have such an

Slow Read Performance With Samba GlusterFS VFS
Hi, First I appreciate for you all, with your last week's points mentioned in the problem I meet with slow samba vfs write performance. Then I use fastcopy software to test windows clients write performance, it tells the same performance with iozone rewrite results, reach 450MB/s each client. Then I use the same smb.conf test read performance, it shows slow read performance compare with

GlusterFS on XFS + ext4 runs out of memory
Hi Everyone, I was running GlusterFS 3.3.1 on ext4 with CentOS 6.3, but it ran out of memory quickly because of known bug in 64/32 bits operations with ext4. I built another machine with XFS and added it to volume, after full heal, switched to the new machine. The configuration is the following: 1st machine with CentOS 6.3 with XFS, 2nd machine with CentOS 6.3 with ext4. They are in replica

Glusterfs with Infiniband tips
Hello guys, I was wondering if someone could share their glusterfs volume and system settings if you are running glusterfs with infiniband networking. In particular I am interested in using the glusterfs + infiniband + kvm for virtualisation. However, any other implementation would also be useful for me. I've tried various versions of glusterfs (versions 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4beta) over the past
