purrr::pmap does not work
Hi All, I try to do a scatterplot for a bunch of variables. I plot a dependent variable against a bunch of independent variables: -- cut -- graphics::plot( v01_r01 ~ v08_01_up11, data = dataset, xlab = "Dependent", ylab = "Independent #1" ) -- cut -- It is tedious to repeat the statement for all independent variables. Found an alternative, i.e. : -- cut -- mu

Question regarding R plot
Hi, I am new to R, and have a quick question regarding an R script that I received from a kind colleague. I am trying to determine the "peak" (maximum value) of the graph that is plotted when executing the following. There is an input file called "rates_values.txt" which begins as: rateValue 0.375693 0 1.71274 0 0 1.02832 0 0.16343 1.02349 0 0 1.47258 0.703522 0.390541

Titles - main and subtitle won't plot with errbar
Hi, I'm struggling with errbar graphics. I'm trying to plot an x-y graph with correct labelling, however can't seem to get main and sub to show on my graph. They do work when I use title(main="," etc...., but this will make it look at lot messier,I'll have to blank out ylab=" " , and I need to try and get the titles to update automatically according to my

abline(v= x) in plot with time formated xaxis not working
Hi, I try to create a vertical line in my plot, which has a xaxis comprising time formated data. This is what I tried: ---------------- y<-152833 x<-strptime(y, format="%H%M%S") abline(v=x, col="red") ---------------- for some reason, it doesn't work and no error msg is displayed... I hope someone can tell me what I do wrong, or maybe an alternative. Thanks

Updating a database record using Javascript variables
I need to update a record in a table based on a event that occurs in the View. I believe the update action should occur in the controller. I think I need to call the controller action from the View and pass data that is stored in a Javascript variables as a parameter, but I am not sure how to do it. Can someone show me how I should be doing this? Below is a simplified version of the code I

Plotting multiple series of data
I'd like to plot data that's in the form of a table such as this: 1 2 4 6 8 12 a 10 11 12 14 15 30 b 2 3 3 4 5 5 c 1 1 2 2 3 3 Where the row headers are the results for different series of tests, and the column headers are the x-values. I'd like to plot this as a set of lines, one each for "a", "b", and "c". I can rearrange the data as needed, but

Hi Everyone, I have data in a long format e.g. there is one row per patient but each follow-up appointment is included in the row. plot each column of a matrix or dataframe versus x in a single plot
How do a plot several columns of a matrix at once in a single plot versus a single x-variable? The default plot.matrix or plot.dataframe commands plot each column versus each other column in several sub-plots. I want to plot each column versus a single other vector (x) as several lines or points in one plot. I can do it by hand: get the range of all variables (i.e. columns of the matrix or

plotting (a) confidence intervals (b) standard error
Hi all, I'm building a plot of the values in tmeant (below) against positions 1 to 5, using matplot. tmeant looks like this: case1 case2 pos1 861.8466 818.5909 pos2 961.2841 976.3466 pos3 878.6080 1262.8523 pos4 950.8011 1129.6080 pos5 968.1080 1063.3920 I also have lower (object tl) and upper (object tu) bounds on the confidence intervals as follows: tl: pos1

plotting a grid with color on a map
Hi all, I have posted similar questions regarding this topic, but I just can't seem to get over the hump and find a straightforward way to do this. I have attached my file as a reference. Basically, the attached file is a 5 degree by 5 degree grid of the the world (2592 cells), most of them are NA's. I just want to be able to plot this grid over a world map and color code the cells. Plotting (vector,matrix)
Hi all, I'm still a bit new to R and I'm trying to figure something out. I have the solution but the solution is what a C programmer would do :-) and I was wondering if someone could tell me the R way of doing it... What I have is a vector x of length |x|. And a matrix y of size m rows and n columns where n = |x|. I want to plot m * n points on a graph so that the x-coordinates

R: plotting multiple functions
Hi all Another simple question. I would like to plot three graphs one the same plot with different colours. Say red, blue and black. Here are the functions. r1<-1+5*cos(2*pi*seq(1:100)/20)+rnorm(100) r2<-1+7*sin(2*pi*seq(1:100)/20)+rnorm(100) r3<-1+7*sin(2*pi*seq(1:100)/20)+5*cos(2*pi*seq(1:100)/20)+rnorm(100) Regards Allan

How do I plot a line followed by two forecast points?
Good day all, I'm trying to plot a continuous line plot, which is followed by two forecast points eg. one forecast point is 12 months out, and another 24 months out from the last date of the line plot. In my attempts so far, the second plot (the forecast points) is scaled against a new axis scale, thus the two plots are not directly comparable (I need the forecast points to be scaled

Matplot does not work with x being POSIXt class (PR#9412)
Hi, Matplot works with x being Date class but not POSIXt. Here is the example with R version 2.5.0 Under development (unstable) (2006-12-06 r40129) Example: x <- Sys.Date() - c(1:10) y <- cbind(1:10, 10:1) class(x) ## [1] "Date" matplot(x, y) x <- strptime(as.character(x), format="%Y-%m-%d") ## [1] "POSIXt" "POSIXlt" matplot(x, y) Error in

matplot.Date & matplot.POSIXct
Hello, All: ????? Roughly a decade ago, I added "matplot.Date" and "matplot.POSIXct" to the "fda" package, so we could get reasonable labeling of the horizontal axis when "x" was class "Date" or "POSIXct".? I also added a local version of "matplot.default" that just changes the defaults for "xlab" and
