dovecot not delivering emails in the right folder
Hello everyone, I'm having trouble getting postfix + dovecot to work correctly. It seems like Postfix is receiving and delivering the emails correctly but dovecot is placing/looking for them in the wrong folder therefore the clients aren't receiving any new emails. I switched from courier and followed a tutorial found here:

dovecot ignoring folder permissions on directory creation
Ubuntu 8.04lts Dovecot 1.2.6 So, further to the 'deliver' problem posted yesterday I've also discovered another issue regarding permissions: files and directories are being created 0600/0700 by the IMAP and deliver process (depending on who gets there first!) preventing use of shared mailboxes. According to documentation: "When creating a new mailbox, Dovecot v1.2+ copies the

deliver is ignoring mail_access_groups
Ubuntu 8.04LTS Dovecot 1.2.6 Postfix 2.5.1 I'm using dovecot imap/deliver in an environment where I don't want users with shell access to reach their mail folders (partly to do with IMAP ACLs requiring open group permissions and partly to do with not wanting users to mess their mail folders / sieve configs up). I specifically don't want to switch to a "single dovecot

Win2K3 Server, in Terminal Session, Problem connecting to SAMBA server.
I have looked for several days and can not find the answer to my problem, but I'm sure it has to be a simple issue. I'm trying to map drives inside Windows Server 2003 Terminal Session from a local Samba server but can't get connected. I figure the problem is in Windows Registry but can't find web page on what needs to be changed to get this working. I built a new Windows 2003

Everything works, but I get an error from dovecot on every message: lda(backup at adomain.tld): Error: User initialization failed: Namespace '':

Folder redirection and "guest user (from session setup) not permitted to access this share" in logs
Hello, sambadmins. First some background. Server is (soon to be dist-upgraded) Debian Lenny 64-bit and samba version is 3.5.6~dfsg-3~bpo50+1. Samba as PDC, LDAP as passdb backend, pam/nss uses same ldap on Linux side, so all ID-s are "in sync". Locks settings are default. Windows XP SP3 as clients. Few weeks ago I started to see following in logs: [2011/06/08 15:17:51.766871, 2]

Accesing shares from ClearCase
Hi all, Just a novice in this world of Samba. I got a question, probably too simple. No problem to access share file systems and mount ClearCase vobs. Log shows access granted to NT userid belonging to the right UNIX group. Then, editing a file ( using a view thru Explorer), log shows another non authenticate user called clearcase_albd trying to be validated. I guess due to

samba 3.5.3 time-stamping issue
I'm copying a windows share onto a samba share, with robocopy to preserve filetimes and ACL's, but I get a lot of "ERROR 50 (0x00000032) Time-stamping destination file ..." It seems samba does not like to change the timestamp to the original time. Robocopy uses the option /copyall These lines are from the log > [2010/05/20 11:50:37, 2] smbd/open.c:631(open_file) >

NT network can't browse Samba
Hi, I'm trying to setup a Linux box with Samba (1.9.18p10) and it isn't having any luck making a home for itself on the network. If I go to a Windows95 machine, I see all (well most) machines on the net there, but not the Linux box. I can also not see any other machines from the Linux box. Here is log.nmbd output that repeats every 5 seconds or so: find_workgroup_on_subnet: workgroup

Mapped drive behaviour after Windows reboot
Hello, I was previously using samba-3.3.3 on my linux machine. I could 'map a drive' from a Windows XP machine to access files on the linux machine. If I rebooted the Windows machine, and tried to access the share again by clicking on the mapped drive icon, I would be denied, but I would be given a prompt in which to type in a username and password. The samba log.clients on the linux
