CLANG and -fstack-protector
Hello,
Does the -fstack-protector option work on CLANG 3.1 and 3.2?
There is thread on FreeBSD forums about the stack protector and ports
and I'm wondering if it's possible to use the -fstack-protector option
with CLANG.

zpool labelclear destroys GPT data
When i use zpool labelclear, it wipes the whole disk including gpt data.
So the whole disk is empty and i need to create the gpt partitions again.
Is this supposed to work like this?
The man page suggests that it only wipes the ZFS metadata.
zpool labelclear [-f] device
Removes ZFS label information from the specified device. The
device
must not be part of an active pool

make installworld fails : touch not found ?
Hi, hackers :
Yesterday night and this morning, I cvsup my system to latest STABLE branch
source (RELENG_4). All make buildworld, buildkernel, and installkernel
procedure was completed with no error. But when I boot into single user mode
and try to make installworld, I always got " touch: not found " error.
Does anyone encounter this situation ? I have no idea about that. :-(

Versions issues
Hello all,
I'm trying to figure out which version I'm currently using. The sysctl return the following values:
kern.osreldate: 502101
kern.osrelease: 5.2 - CURRENT
Which version is that ? Is it plain 5.2 current or 5.2.1 ?
Also very important, where can I download it from ?
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,

[PATCH 0/4] usr/kinit checkpatch
Various coding style fixes checkpatch warns about.
The goal is not to be 100% checkpatch compliant,
but to have more consistent coding style.
As this is a trivial patch serie, will land in 24 hours in klibc git,
unless of course ml review hits a bugger.
Checked with size(3) that the generated kinit, fstype, ipconfig and
nfsmount are the same.

Hi, I was noticing that our debian/rules did:

[patch] libc Berkeley DB information leak
Hi,
FreeBSD libc Berkeley DB can leak sensitive information to database
files. The problem is that it writes uninitialized memory obtained from
malloc(3) to database files.
You can use this simple test program to reproduce the behavior:
http://www.saunalahti.fi/~jh3/dbtest.c
Run the program and see the resulting test.db file which will contain a
sequence of 0xa5 bytes directly from malloc(3).

igraph_vertex
Hi,
a quick additional note: try
"edge.width= E(.)$weight"
instead of the current "edge.width= network". Seems to work and makes a
visible difference...

Problems with NT logons, Samba as PDC
Hi!
We're using Samba as PDC, and recently had a strange crash on the
system (none of the NT-machines authenticated anymore). I re-created
the user database and passwords on the server (TurboLinux 2.2.14-5,
with Samba 2.0.6 & 2.1alpha for auth.) and also re-newed the profiles
making 'em local on the NT-workstations.
Sometimes when the NT-PC gets rebooted, I can't authenticate it

Grouping data
Hi,
I am quite new to R (but like it very much!), so please apologize if
this is a too simple question.
I have a large data frame consisting of data from a survey. There is,
for example, information about age and education (a numeric value from
1-9). Now I would like to extract the total amount of each type of
education within different age groups (e.g. from 18 to 25, from 25 to
35 etc.).

readLines() and unz() and non-empty final line
Hi,
you could use "scan" instead, it seems to work fine also when wrapped
around "unz".
Or, alternatively, you could use "unzip" instead of "unz". It works as
expected, i.e. reads the last incomplete line and throws a warning about
this.
So it seems to me that "unz" creates a non-blocking connection, whereas
"unzip" creates a

C5: correct place for routing scripts?
Hello
I have several Centos 4 and Centos 5 servers. Because of the nature of
the environment, there are some static arp entries made with arp
command and then source routing made with "ip rule/ip route"
-commands.
Those commands are now placed at /etc/rc.d/rc.local which is bad: if
server is rebooted, those commands will be done correctly but if
administrator restarts network with
